I hear a knock on the door.
I open the door to see Tom in his suit ready to go.
"Hey beautiful" he greets me "Hey" I say We awkwardly lean in for a hug. Ever since we got back together something's been off.
This guy is so sweet and I feel really bad for cheating on him with his best friend but I really want to be with Jay. I don't want to hurt him again.
"Should we get going. We're going to be late" he says while looking at his phone. "Yeah. Ok" I agree with him.
y/n's POV: We get to our school gym, where the formal is and see fairy lights wrapped around the trees from outside.

"Wow" f/n says "I know right" I agree "Do you want a drink?" I ask f/n "Yes please" She says
I walk over to the punch and grab 2 cups. I glance back over at f/n to see she's talking to Caleb. I hope they get together. I've secretly shipped them for so long.
I look around the room and stop to see Tom and Lily. Ugh. I knew they would be here.
I ignore them and start walking towards f/n and Caleb and hope Tom and Lily don't see me. Well just my luck. That's not the case.
Tom and I make eye contact. He smiles at me. I smile back. Lily notices Tom staring at me and pulls his arm to take him somewhere.
Tom's POV: Lily pulls my arm to take me outside.
"Tom. I cheated on you with Jay after the party" she confesses "I know" I respond "What? Who told you?" She asks "Jay." I say "Oh. I'm sorry" she apologises "It's fine." I say while looking at y/n. She looks stunning tonight.
"Look. I know your in love with y/n." She says I don't deny it. I just smile still looking at y/n. "Yeah I know and I blew my chance with her" I say disappointed "Go up to her and tell her how you feel" she says
"I've already tried." I say sounding defeated "Plus I have to be with you" I say "Tom. What we have, isn't love it's a friendship. You and y/n are meant to be" she says "Your right. I'm going to go up to her. Thank you Lily" I say while giving her a hug and go back inside to tell y/n how I really feel. Again...
