Kalvin's POV, 7:13 p.m.
We called the toe company and they said they would be here by morning, the question is, what will we do till then? Fuckin' christ, man.
"So should we start heading to the hotel now?" Finn asked us.
"Well duh, dipshit. Guess there's nothing else for us to do at this point in time." Micheal said sounding irrationally angry for literally no reason.
"You guys go ahead, I gotta make a phone call. The Mrs. You know?" I told them before they left.
"Yeah. Okay, man." Finn said,
They left the gas station without a second thought and I was left alone with the less than friendly store clerk.
"Excuse me, could I use your bathroom for a moment?"
"Not unless you buy something,"
Ugh. Fuckin' old man.
I thought fuck it and bought a bottle of water for the time being, I more than likely need it anyway.
He rung me up, never stopped scowling at me once, what a nice guy.
"Okay. May I use your restroom now, sir?"
"So you're not going to donate money to the charity jar?" He looked me dead in the face.
"May I ask what the charity jar is for?"
His scowl somehow became more intense if that was even possible. But he said nothing, no noise but the coolers keeping the wide selection of drinks cold.
He said something inaudible under his breath before ringing me up.
After he finished I made my way towards the bathroom and quickly closed the door. The quicker I got into this bathroom the less likely I would have to deal with whatever bullshit he was on.
I sat on the toilet and dialed my wife's phone number, she should be awake this time a night, right?
It rang, and rang, and rang,
When I was almost gave up and hung up the phone, I heard my wife's voice,
"Hello?"
"Hey babe," I chirped with exaggerated excitement,
"I know I said I'd be home for dinner, but something came up so unfortunately it looks like I'll be spending the night elsewhere."
"WHAT!? Are you okay???" She said, the concern in her voice almost making me smile,
"Yeah babe, I'm fine."
"Where the hell will you even be staying?"
"At a hotel somewhere, probably." I say honestly. I hear her sigh before answering,
"Alright, Kalvin. I'll see you tomorrow. Love you baby."
"Okay, love you too babe."
I hung up then took a quick piss before leaving the gross bathroom, I walked out and felt the clerk's eyes burning daggers into my head.
I walked out the door being thankful I'll never have to come here ever again.
Off to the trails again we go
