It's been a couple of days since Satan left Shax behind to protect me and I have to say he isn't that bad of a demon. He is an interesting guy to have around while I sit around bored. The day after he arrived here he seemed a little more cautious about what I was doing but that's just because he's following his boss's orders.
With what has been happening recently, it's been hard to fully tell Father Murphy and Dr. April what's going on. If I tell them I will be assigned more therapy and more sessions of religious protection that won't help me at all. Plus how do you explain to someone that Satan is trying to protect you from a group of other demons? Sounds a little insane doesn't it.
As I walked into school, I noticed something was off
"Hey, Laura!" Lucy exclaimed from across the hall as she ran up to me and hugged me
"Oh, hey Lucy. Hey, I'm sorry if I hurt you in some way I didn't—"
"Hurt me? You didn't hurt me, silly. Why would you think that?" she asked cheerfully I had a confused look on my face
"Well it's just that you've been distant with me and I thought I hurt you," I told her she laughed at this
"No, no you're fine. I've just been dealing with some stuff" we started to walk down the hallway again talking to each other. As we walked I noticed her catching glances at my necklace "Did you get a new necklace?" she asked
"No, why do you ask?" she reached out and took the necklace looking closely at it
"It just seems more sparkly" she commented I looked down at the necklace. Yes, it was a little bit shinier than the other times
*I guess it's because of Satan's spell he put on it* I thought
"Oh, I had a friend polish it," I said smiling
"Huh," she said as she dropped it and kept walking "So, you want to have a sleepover this weekend at your place?" she asked excitedly
"Oh um" after what has been happening, There was no way anyone was coming over, "My parents said I can't have friends over" Lucy looked skeptical as though she was going to say something but thought against it
"That's ok maybe next week" the bell rang "Oh time for class, see ya later Laura!" she said waving back at me while she went to class. I let out a deep sigh of relief
"She seems eager, doesn't she?" Shax's voice said I turned around only to bump into a tall, muscularly lean young boy with red hair slicked back
"Oh sorry, I didn't —"
"Laura, it's me. Shax" the boy whispered I did a double-take
"Did you just say Shax?" I asked him
"Yes" I was stunned
"But..how...why?" I stuttered out he gently grabbed my arm as we continued to walk through the halls
"I'm supposed to protect you but I can't do that if I'm not near you. So I disguised myself as a teen to fit in and look suspicious"
"Couldn't you just make yourself invisible or something?" I asked him
"No" I groaned as we stopped by my first class "Well, come on let's go in," he said as he walked inside
"Wait," I said following after him
"Oh, are you new here young man?" the teacher asked him
"Yes ma'am, I am"
"Well I don't see you on my roll," she said looking down. Shax waved his hand as red came out of them going onto her clipboard
