"Shoot!" Ellis said as she saw Ruby, Diana and Anne approaching the Blythe household.
"What?" Gilbert questioned confused. He had just finished the soup that Ellis had made him.
She had been there since the funeral, making sure that he slept and ate. She was yet to return home and she knew that she would suffer the consequences for that.
"Ruby, Diana and Anne are coming up." Ellis pointed outside of the window. "If they see me here again, they'll think that we're courting and I don't want them to think that we're courting. Anne already thinks that we are courting and we're not are we?" Ellis rambled.
At first it took Gilbert by surprise.
"No Ellis, we're not." He smirked at the idea of them courting. "Go and wait in the living room. I'll get rid of them as fast as I can." Gilbert said. Ellis nodded and went to wait in the living room.
Ellis couldn't hear what they were saying from the living room. But once she heard the door slam she looked out of the window. She couldn't help but laugh at the way that Anne ran down the snowy fields.
Gilbert heard Ellis laughing and he was sure that Ruby did too because she started looking around confused.
"Well, Umm, thank you for stopping by." He stood from his seat and watched as the girls left.
Ellis made her way back in the kitchen still laughing at Anne's run.
"You are a dreadful person." Gilbert smiled.
"She's a dreadful runner." Ellis said putting emphasis on the word 'dreadful'. Gilbert couldn't help but let out a small laugh.
Ellis had a contagious laugh.
Ellis glanced to the shepherds pie that they cooked him, she almost laughed as she began,
"You hate shepherds pie." Ellis announced pointing to it.
"You know me too well Miss Ellis Carla Bennett." Gilbert said as he picked the dish up and went over to the bin and tipped the contents out.
