Ellis sat in the window, her dress was a soft yellow and it flowed down the window seat and towards her ankles. She'd been wishing upon some sort of star and for some reason the same stars had aligned.
A carriage rolled on to the land and paused outside the gravel walkway. Ellis hadn't even comprehend who it was until she saw the way he walked.
It was Gilbert.
She broke into a run out of the house and down the large wooden stairs towards the front door which she bursted open with both hands and that paused to look at him.
"Hi" she said rather pronounced and Gilbert couldn't help but notice the way she didn't stutter at all. She looked gorgeous, her dark hair flowing down her back but half tied up so that her baby hairs trailed down her face in curls.
Ellis looked at him in disbelief, why was he there? What was he doing? Did he actually want to see her?
"Hi" Gilbert responded with a smirk as Ellis danced down the stairs and towards him, he'd forgotten how small she was pressed against his chest.
All of a sudden Gilbert reached up and cupped Ellis' face, he pulled Ellis in and kissed her. It was a passionate and yet soft, their lips moving in sync perfectly.
Gilbert pulled away in shock, his eyes scanning Ellis' face, her eyes were still closed and lips pouted until they flickered open.
Ellis' hand reached down to pinch her arm and Gilbert noticed he reached forward to stop her from hurting herself.
"I had to make sure it was real" Ellis said not stuttering once and Gilbert laughed complementing her speech when she said it.
"Ellie, I must know, Do you truly have feelings for me?" Gilbert questioned his hands reaching across and dropping towards her fingers where he linked their fingers.
Instead of answering Ellis pulled him in for another kiss, she wrapped her arms around Gilbert's neck and brought him into her again. Gilbert pushed himself closer towards Ellis not wanting to part for another second.
He finally had her.
"Twelve. I have to go" Gilbert sighed tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear.
"But you just got here. Where are you going?" Ellis questioned reaching her hand up to touch his face, she didn't want to believe that she wouldn't be with him for longer after what had just occurred.
"Toronto. U of T. I still have a long way to go and it's imperative I arrive today" Gilbert said rather sadly though he was happy enough leaving Ellis at such a place seen as she was glowing.
"Alright then, so, goodbye?" She questioned and he grabbed both her hands and brought them to his lips.
"I have to run" Gilbert said as the horse neighed "I left my bags on the train" he said jogging towards the carriage that was ready to depart.
As he sat down on the carriage he looked back towards the lost and yet beautiful looking girl he had just kissed, he couldn't take it any longer and so he swung himself out of the carriage and towards Ellis to kiss her one last final time before he left.
Ellis giggled into the kiss and as he pulled away on the carriage for the first time ever, she was actually pretty happy.
