Gilbert was at the Bennett's house. It was an hour before the wedding between Prissy Andrews and Mr Phillips.
He stood before all of her brothers anxiously. Franklin, crossed his arms and looked down at the boy, wondering what he wanted.
"I was wondering." Gilbert cleared his throat. "If I could have your permission to take Ellis to the wedding?" Gilbert asked hopefully.
"No." Ernest stated bluntly.
"She's going with him." James snapped at Ernest.
"Boys." Franklin warned both James and Ernest.
"Yes of course thank you for asking." Carter smiled at Gilbert and shook his hand.
Ellis walked in, in her pastel yellow dress and linked arms with Gilbert.
"You really think that he was going to listen to you? He was only asking to be polite." Gilbert smirked at her smart remark. She looked beautiful. "Let's go Mr Blythe. Don't want to be late."

Gilbert grabbed Ellis' hand the second they entered the church. Her brothers all wore their smartest suits and had big smiles on their faces. Patrick's dimples were showing from how widely he was smiling. Whenever the boys attended a wedding when they were younger, with their mom, she would tell them to smile as wide as possible so that their 'adorable dimples' were showing.
Everyone stood up once Prissy entered.
"She looks beautiful." Ellis admired as she reached the front. Gilbert smiled and couldn't help but think about Ellis in a wedding dress.
Maybe someday.
Mr Phillips removed the vail from around Prissy's face. She turned to look at everyone in the church. She dropped the flowers on to the floor. Ellis furrowed her brows as Prissy Andrews broke out into a run out of the church.
"Quick, a run away bride." Ellis mumbled. Ernest glared at his disapprovingly, but James chuckled.
"Prissy?" Jane shouted as she ran after her sister. Diana, Anne and Ruby following. Everyone began to whisper and talk amongst themselves.
