Hawks was busy juggling hero work and undercover work, trying to find a way to meet more of the members of The League of Villains so he could gather more intel. His day had been long and somewhat hectic and he was really looking forward to relaxing at home with some good food and a cold beer. His phone buzzed around 8pm, it was a text from Endeavor.

E: I haven't heard from Doll in a while, you better not do anything untoward to my subordinate or you will get burned!

Hawks stared at the message confused before a very worrisome thought crossed his mind. He'd thought his feathers had picked up on someone talking about a mummy earlier in the day but he didn't think anything of it because he knew Doll never left her safe space at the Agency. Did she really come all the way here on her own?! He dropped what he was doing and flew as fast as he could to his apartment.

The courtyard was aglow with lights and looked like a winter wonderland from the wintery mix that had fallen throughout the day. When he hit the ground, his heart dropped as he spotted Doll curled into a ball atop one of the benches with a few bags beside her. She was covered in snow. How long had she been sitting out here?

"Doll!" He ran to her.

She didn't stir.

He wrapped her in his arms, she was practically frozen. "Doll!"

She stirred awake as she felt strong arms encircle her. Her cloudy white eyes fluttered open and she slowly lifted her head. There were streaks down her bandaged face from the bloody tears she'd shed. "Hawks?"

Relief flooded through him as she spoke and he lifted her into his arms and managed to grab her bags before flying up to the balcony of his apartment. "Are you insane? What the hell are you doing here?"

Doll bowed her head feeling sick with guilt as she heard the distress in his voice, she'd really worried him, "I'm sorry...I thought it might be fun to surprise you with a date this time...but I don't think I did it right." She sniffled.

Hawks landed on the balcony swiftly. He didn't have any problem keeping her and her bags steady and get a hand free to open the door. The balcony doors opened into a nice dining room with a luxurious full-sized kitchen just beyond it. Off to the side of the dining area was a spacious, open sitting room with a fireplace, some cozy chairs and sofas and a giant flat screen with a few gaming consoles though they didn't look like they were used often.

"Well you certainly got the surprise part down, a little too well." He chuckled trying to lighten the mood and get her to smile as he carried her over to the fireplace. Gently he placed her and her parcels in front of the fireplace and got a fire going. Realizing she was still upset he pat her on the head affectionately, "it is a fun surprise and I'm glad to see you, it just would have been nice to see you before you turned into a popsicle."

The corners of her lips twitched slightly.

"Try to warm up a bit, I'll find you some dry, non-frozen clothes." He turned to head to his room but paused, "hey, when your fingers have thawed, text the big guy before he turns me into a crispy Hawks."

Doll nodded. Her fingers, like the rest of her, were still too frozen to move comfortably. Hawks returned a few moments later and frowned as he noticed she was still shivering in front of the fire. He scooped her up without warning and smiled as she let out an adorable yelp and threw her arms around him to keep from toppling out of his hold. He resisted the urge to shiver, it felt like he was holding a human sized ice cube. He carried her down a small hall with a guest bathroom and bedroom, he stepped into the guest bathroom and set her down atop the counter. He pointed to a hastily folded pile of clothes and a small stack of towels atop the counter next to her.
