Voodoo Doll [BNHA]

Chapter Twenty Two

Doll felt strange leaving the agency without her bandages on. She hid behind her mentor and kept herself buried inside her jacket to hide herself as much as possible to get to the car to take them to the Todoroki Estate. Midoriya, Shoto and a very disgruntled Bakugo followed along dressed in their school uniforms as they were supposed to be heading back to UA after dinner.

Endeavor looked deep in thought during the car ride, Doll noticed sorrow, guilt and self-loathing in his gaze as he looked out the window. She frowned for a moment trying to figure out how to fix him being upset before remembering what worked best and gave him a hug. Midoriya, Shoto and Bakugo stared as Endeavor suddenly froze up.

"Doll! What are you doing?!" Endeavor growled angrily.

"You looked upset..." Doll frowned as he disentangled himself from her and shook his head at her actions as his face reddened. She watched her mentor carefully as he resumed his solemn staring out the window.

The car came to a stop outside of a large traditional Japanese home, that seemed more like a mansion. Midoriya looked in awe of everything. Bakugo still looked angry and Doll wondered if she should try to give the grumpy blonde a hug as he was griping about everything.

"Why the hell are we here?!" Bakugo growled.

"My sister invited us over for dinner." Shoto replied and looked curiously at Doll as she tried to sneak up on an unsuspecting Bakugo. Realizing what she was doing, he reached out to stop her liking the girl too much to let her face Bakugo's wrath if she tried to hug him.

"Why though?!" Bakugo growled not even realizing he'd almost been hugged by the eerie girl.

"She wanted me to introduce her to my friends." Shoto replied as he gently steered Doll away from Bakugo.

"Then tell her we aren't friends! It's not too late!" Bakugo growled.

"Kacchan!" Midoriya groaned.

Deciding he was too grumpy for his own good, Doll managed to slip away from Shoto and wrapped her arms around the fuming blonde. Bakugo let out a strange snarling sound at suddenly being hugged.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!"

"Hugs make people happy." Doll said simply as she continued hugging the blonde waiting for him to stop being grumpy.

"GET OFF OF ME!" Bakugo attempted to break from her hold but found her immovable, she was a hell of a lot stronger than she looked.

Endeavor turned around to see what was going on and held back a laugh as he spotted Doll hugging the irate blonde. "Doll, enough, come here."

Doll released Bakugo from her hold and scampered over to her mentor's side as Shoto and Midoriya exchanged looks unsure if they should laugh or place themselves between Doll and Bakugo to keep her safe from any retaliation. Endeavor placed a hand on the creepy girl's shoulder and steered her ahead of him toward the massive mansion. She'd only been here once before, when she was still just an intern and a student at UA.

She'd overused her quirk absorbing injuries from Endeavor, his sidekicks and one of the other hero agencies who'd teamed up with them to handle a massive operation where a group of villains tried to take over a nearby city. Not realizing Doll couldn't be healed with healing quirks, one of the sidekicks of the other agency had tried to heal her. She'd nearly died. Rather than have her stay alone in her apartment at the agency, Endeavor brought her home with him so he'd be close by if she took a turn for the worse. It was at that time; she'd met Fuyumi and Natsuo who both took a few shifts watching over her when they weren't busy with their studies. Doll learned through her experiences with the Todoroki family that they were all warm people.
