I stepped out of the room with David behind me. He closed the door quietly.
"What was that all about?" He asked in anger. I shrugged and shook my head.
"What was what?" I asked. He squinted his eyes.
"I know you and Kate were talking about something serious. I wasn't born yesterday." He added. I looked down at the ground.
"You need to stay in your business, David. What we discussed was between us." I said before walking off, exiting the building. Hopefully Joan was done talking with Javi.

I stepped down the stairs as I heard Joan talk to the small group.
"You know Y/n, don't you?" She asked. It was silent.
"Yeah." Javi responded. I could tell Joan was smiling. She always was.
"I wouldn't trust her." Joan sighed. My eyes widened. "The way she killed so many innocent people... It was scary. She didn't even flinch." She continued. I frowned, quickly running down the stairs.
"Joan, I think you're done here." I said. Joan turned around, acting surprised to see me.
"Oh! Y/n! We were just talking about you." She said in a cheerful voice. Javi was still frowning, looking over at me.
"Oh, really? What was it about?" I asked. Joan paused. She looked over at the soldiers.
"Nevermind that. I have to get going now." She muttered, trying to keep on her fake smile. I smiled at her as she walked out.
After she left, I put on a frown, looking at Tripp, Javi and Jesus.
"I don't kill innocent people out of cold blood. It's either Max's order or Badger's." I said. Tripp crossed his arms. He looked intimidating.
"So you do kill innocent people but under people's orders?" He asked. My eyes widened.
"Well, I... No, but..." I stuttered. Jesus sighed.
"Guys, just believe her. I've known her for years and I know she'd never do that. Have you guys seen this place? It's like a prison for the people working here. I honestly don't know how Y/n hasn't died here." Javi replied, backing me up. I gave him a smile. "Y/n, we were talking about getting out of here. Out of Richmond."
I furrowed my brows. "But.. why? You just got here and-" I paused. "We haven't even caught up yet..." I muttered. Javi looked down in guilt. Tripp took a few steps forward.
"Y/n, you need to open your god damn eyes and look around! People here are insane! Joan is insane! You probably are insane!" Tripp pointed at me. Javi looked at him in anger.
"Tripp, calm down, dude." Jesus put his hands up.
"And how is she insane? Tell me!" Javi demanded. Tripp still frowned. "She could help us!" I looked down. Silence. "You could help us... Right? You have to be one of the leaders here.." he said.
"I'm not... I'm David's second in command..." I cringed in embarrassment as Jesus and Tripp shook their heads. Javi sighed in frustration.
"Whatever. Whatever! She could still help us!" He continued.
"Javi, maybe I should just... Go." I muttered. He shook his head, his eyes widened.
"What? No! Please Y/n-" he paused as he saw me tear up. I have to tell him.
He's going to kill me.
I took a deep breath before speaking. "I... Saw Mari get shot." I said in a quivering voice. Javi stared at me in confusion.
"You were there?" He whispered. He probably felt broken. I was there and I couldn't stop it... I closed my eyes.
"... I did it. I shot her." I added. Silence filled the room. I opened my eyes, but kept my eyes on the floor. "I didn't want to but it was because of Badger. You don't know how much I hate him now, Javi. I regret everything I've done." I said. Javi stepped back. I looked up to see tears rolling down his cheek.

A few minutes passed and no one had spoke. Before I turned to leave, I stopped.
"I'm sorr-"
"Just leave me alone, Y/n." Javi's voice quivered. My nodded, my eyes still wet with tears.
I left the room, shutting the door behind me. I zoned out.
He hates me. I shouldn't have told him. He'll never forgive me.
I don't know what to do.

I rushed out of the quarantine building, trying not to be seen by anyone else.
I spotted the building that I was stationed to sleep in. I looked around and quickly stepped in, slamming the door behind me.
The building's halls were empty, thank God. I couldn't handle speaking to anyone right now.
I entered one of the rooms. The room that I slept in. The room that I hoped to share with Javi.
Something inside me just... Broke. Tears flooded down my face. I sobbed quietly.
This was all my fault. I shouldn't of went with Max and Badger... It was so stupid.
I had to tell David. As much as I don't want to, I have to before Javi does.
