The Dauntless cheered and stomped their feet as Erin ran to join them, not daring to look at her father. When she chose Dauntless, her father let out a huge angry gasp and helped with the booing. Erin still wasn't sure she made the right choice, but she admired the Dauntless.
The choosing ceremony was over and the Dauntless ran down all the flights of stairs and all of the other factions jumped out of the way as they burst outside. Erin found herself running alongside a boy with short blonde hair and electric blue eyes. Eyes that slowly melted her. Erin got a strange feeling inside.
"Hey, any idea where we're going? I'm Chase by the way," he panted.
He was from Amity. And he didn't look like it. He wasn't super tanned like all the other Amity and he didn't have the green and brown eyes that they had either. Though he had lighter blonde streaks in his hair from the sun.
"Yea. The Dauntless headquarters, wherever those are. Uh-oh," Erin said as she saw the train slow down a little and then the Dauntless running and jumping onto the train. It wasn't going to stop either. "Let's go!"
"Are you crazy?"
"Do you want to be faction-less, because I don't," Erin replied. And then she ran towards the last cart in the train, grabbed the handle and leaped into the cart. Chase was right behind her. He jumped in the cart and sat down. Erin thought for a second, and realized that the wind force would knock her over so she sat down next to Chase.
"You never told me your name," Chase said.
"I'm Erin." she said, suddenly shy.
"I can't wait for a new life. It'll be great."
"If we make it through initiation." Thats when the other initiates noticed them. "If you haven't noticed, I get ignored a lot."
"Same here. Your from Erudite right?"
"Yes. And your Amity?" Erin suddenly thought, I'm wearing an Erudite shirt. Oh well. The Dauntless wear black, Amity red, yellow, and orange, Candor black and white, Erudite blue, and Abnegation grey.
"Yep. What's your last name Erin?"
"Bleu. Why?
Chase laughed. "That's ironic. Your from Erudite, who wears blue, and your last name is Blue?!" Chase laughed again.
"Yea well it's spelled differently."
"Doesn't make a difference. Time to jump," Chase said as all of the other initiates jumped off of the train onto a roof.
Chase grabbed Erin's hand. She looked at him. "Well I need to make sure I jump."
Then they both jumped. Erin stumbled as she hit the roof and Chase ran forward a couple steps. Again, no one seemed to notice them.
