Erin awoke early in the morning just to see that Chase and Reese were both already awake. She scrambled up and walked over to them. They were sharing a can of peanut butter and offered Erin some. She scooped some up with her finger and Reese told them the plan.
"Okay so we are going to travel by train to the dauntless headquarters. There we will set up positions near the control room and two of the leaders offices. Erin you will place 2 voice recorders/cameras on the bottom of two dauntless leaders doors. Chase you will do the same. I will tell you which rooms when we get there. Meanwhile I will be setting them up in the dorms and dining hall and bathrooms. We will meet at the train tracks."
"Ok got it," Erin replied with a nod.
"Sure, I can do that," Chase agreed.
"Don't forget who the real enemies are. The dauntless. Spying is harder than you would think. Now let's go," Reese replied.
They jogged out to the train tracks and waited for the train to arrive.
In the distance Erin heard a faint train rumble and soon the train was bearing down upon them. Erin hopped in the first car along with Reese and Chase. Soon they were at the dauntless headquarters and hid in the shadows on top of the roof.
"Here are you recorders," Reese said handing them each 2 small recorders. She continued, "There is a small tab on the bottom that you pull. Once you pull it off, the bottom will be sticky and it will start recording everything immediately. Be careful to stay in the shadows. Erin, you will take the first two doors, Eric and Max's. Chase, you will take the other two. Do not get caught. Be careful. And put the recorder on the bottom of the door."
"Yes ma'am," Erin replied with much dignity.
"Got it," Chase said when Reese looked over at him.
"Ok. Now go. And when you are done meet at these train tracks. I will find you two here. Hurry!"
Erin and Chase both ran off inside of dauntless. Reese went in after them but turned the opposite direction. Erin skunk into the shadows and moved slowly. Chase did the same.
Chase moved ahead of Erin, quickly, and moved towards the computer room. From there he snuck back into the shadows and stood silently, barely daring to breath, when someone would walk by. He made it to the two offices and waited. Waited to see if anyone was coming out or in.
Erin slipped around corners and passed many people, but she was silent, still, and unnoticed. She saw the control room ahead and new how short the distance was to Max's office. She slipped inside of the control room, even though there were people there, and stuck a recorder on the door and quickly stepped out and back into the shadows. She thought to herself, Reese is going to be so proud. It was close but I wasn't caught. Good thing she gave me an extra recorder. Erin walked over to Max's office door. She found that her fingers were trembling as she pulled the tab. Erin barely managed to stick the recorder on the bottom of the door before Max walked around the corners and stepped into his office, along with Eric. Erin was sneaking away already.
