Ch. 14 Chase's POV

Chase's POV

I go outside from the Dauntless headquarters and see Reese standing at the tracks. I jog up to her and tell her the situation with Erin. And then I mention that I could only put a recorder on 1 of the doors because she only handed me one.
Reese stares dumbfounded. "I gave you two."
"No. At least, only one was put in my hand. Erin must've gotten a third."
Reese put a hand to her head. Suddenly she stood erect and looked straight at the doors. Erin burst out of them and yelled at us to run. We ran and then a train came so we hopped on it. After 1 minute of being on the train Reese pulled us off and veered towards the woods into a shortcut.
Reese looked worn and tired as she sprinted in the lead. Then she stopped.
"Why are we stopping?" Erin panted.
"Because I wanna know what happened. Did you get three recorders? And what did you do with the third? Also, what happened when they caught you?"
Erin replied smartly, "Well I did get three recorders. But you handed me then."
Reese broke in, "Actually I gave them to you guys and you grabbed three instead of two."
"That's beside the point. So I put the third on the bottom of the computer room door. And when the man caught me, he thought I was an initiate and then I fought him off by catching him on surprise. Then I ran out to you guys."
Reese nodded and mumbled some stuff we couldn't understand. I sat down on the ground and rubbed my face. The air was hot and I felt as if I were going to melt. Erin laid down and sighed. Reese motioned for us to get up so that we can go. We stayed in the woods all the way to the Abnegation sector. Then we jogged back to the faction-less headquarters where Reese walked away to talk to Evelyn.
Right as we got inside, Edward walked over and said, "How was the mission?"
