•OK, SO, THANKS FOR ALL OF THE READS. IT MEANS A LOT. I HOPE YOU ARE ENJOYING THE STORY AND IF NOT, please COMMENT SOME SUGGESTIONS•
Erin looked at Edward, spies? No, that was impossible, ridiculous, insanity, and yet, it almost made sense. They were never noticed, they could be spies, but if they were caught-
"What're you thinking about? Your face looks very- very um, strained," Chase said. When Edward mentioned being spies, his face went very pale but then he looked okay with the idea.
Edward turned on his heel and walked away.
"Oh nothing much. Well I take it back. A lot of stuff, except it makes complete sense why we of all people could be spies. What do you think he meant by, placed here?"
Chase replied, "I think he meant that since this area or group of faction-less is so close to the leader, Evelyn, that people in high status must be here because if it was just anyone, Evelyn would be in danger. But, if we were placed here, well then maybe it's also useful people who get placed at Evelyn's headquarters so that they can get mission information quickly."Erin thought about that. It made sense. Suddenly without warning, the edges of her vision began to blur, Oh no, a flashback! But I haven't had once since before the Choosing Ceremony. And I haven't been near my father lately. Is he here? Erin's legs wobbled and she collapsed, her vision gone, replaced with the flashback.
For the first time ever, her flashback was different. She was watching on camera the planes and helicopters swooping in and dropping bombs. Fiery bombs raining down, and 3 people. A mother, a father, and a little girl. They were running, past alleys, through alleys, moving towards the direction Erin was looking through. She saw the mother trapped behind a wall of flames, the young girl sobbing and screaming. She heard the mother- her mother singing a song as she stood behind the flames, "Somewhere your dreams will come true
Somewhere you'll find a new place
Where you won't be hurt
Your cries won't be heard
For you will have no tears
You are so strong
And I will always be there
Abigail goodbye
Your dreams will someday come true..."
Erin gasped as her mother's voice faded. She had never heard the song. And yet, she felt as if she'd always heard the first half when her mother was alive and she would go tuck Erin into bed. That meant that her name was changed! Her name was Abigail.
Erin awoke, shaking. Chase stood over her and was saying, "What happened?! You were fine one moment and then you fell. You passed out." There eyes locked.
"It's- its- its called a flashback. Of my past. And I don't want to talk about it," Erin said, her voice shaky.
Almost all of the faction less were staring at her and Erin stood up. When she looked at Chase she saw that his eyes looked fearful.
"I'm fine," Erin muttered and pushed herself up. She heard Chase sigh behind her.
The faction-less gathered around a fire and started passing out cans and utensils. Erin and Chase sat down and ate with the faction-less.•SORRY ITS A LITTLE LONG BUT I HOPE YOU ENJOYED. THANKS SO MUCH FOR 99 READS. IT MEANS A LOT.•
