Jungkook POV
At the train station, I held Jimin's hand tightly as they stood on the platform. The hum of the station was filled with the bustle of travelers, but for Jungkook, it felt like time had slowed down.
“Jiminie… I will miss you,” I said, his voice soft but filled with sincerity.
Jimin squeezed my hand, his eyes reflecting a mixture of sadness and reassurance. “I’ll miss you too, Kkuk.”
The train was approaching, its headlights cutting through the early morning fog. I looked at Jimin, his heart heavy with the thought of their separation. The train ride to Busan would take 2-3 hours, but the time apart felt like it would stretch much longer.
As the train came to a halt, I pulled Jimin into a close embrace, holding him tightly. “Please take care. I’ll be thinking about you every day.”
Jimin rested his head on my shoulder, taking a deep breath. “I’ll be okay. And I’ll be counting the days until I’m back.”
As I hugged Jimin tightly at the train station, my heart ached with the weight of the moment. The train’s whistle pierced the air, signaling that it was time for him to board. I clung to him, reluctant to let go.
“Jiminie…” I murmured, trying to keep my voice steady. “I have such a hard time letting you go.”
Jimin’s arms wrapped around me, his warmth a comforting presence. “I know, Kkuk. I’ll miss you too.”
The thought of two months without our nightly phone calls was daunting. We had grown so accustomed to sharing our days and dreams before bed, our conversations a lifeline connecting us despite the physical distance. Now, with Jimin’s hometown lacking a telephone line, that daily ritual would be impossible.
“I’ll miss hearing your voice every night,” I admitted, my voice breaking slightly. “It’s going to be so quiet without you.”
Jimin rested his forehead against mine, his eyes meeting mine with a reassuring gaze. “We’ll make up for it when I get back. Until then, just remember that I’m thinking about you all the time.”
As we stood on the platform, the train's engine roared in the background, and I looked at Jimin with a hint of desperation. “Can you not go home?” I asked, hoping against hope.
Jimin’s response was a soft, amused laugh. “Jiminie honey, I’m serious. You can follow me to Japan. I’ll take you for a walk there. And I’m sure my parents would be excited to see my honeybunch.” I leaned in and pecked his plump lips, my heart aching at the thought of them being so lonely for the next two months.
Jimin looked at me with a gentle but firm expression. “Jeon Jungkook, I have to go back to my hometown. I miss Harabeoji. After all, he’s not feeling well.” He cupped my face in his hands, his touch soothing.
