Lucas

I stood by the side of the treadmill, in my hand was a clipboard that contained my client's information about her health, her weight and everything that is needed for her to shed that few kilograms off her weight, this is the kind of job that I have gotten myself into after graduation. I didn't really have a fixed career that I wanted to work in and I am always open to options even a few months after graduation, I was still lost over what I should do in life and my peers are already starting to find jobs and go for jobs interviews all around the nation, some have already secured their jobs and have gotten their first pay by then.

But I am still at square one and I really needed to secure a job by the end of the month or I will lose my apartment to another tenant, the landlord has been really kind to me for not increasing the rent but I still needed to pay my bills on time and my savings are starting to run out.

The money that my parents have wired over every single month have been used for my daily expenses and by the amount of food that I am eating for every single day, it is seriously not going to be enough for me and so I really needed to earn a lot of money to keep myself alive and a place to live in while I am still living as a fellow foreigner in South Korea.

But I had no idea what I am going to do until I went for my gym sessions one day, I have always liked working out and keeping fit and being healthy has been my life goals for me to accomplish and maintain until I am too old and feeble to work out. I was working on the bench press when I encountered a guy struggling to perform the actions in a set and he was doing it wrong as well, he will be hurting himself anytime soon and it might cause an permanent injury on him.

And so I wanted to ignore him because it is none of my business and it is not my say to correct his posture so that he doesn't get injured but I was too annoyed at him and I decided to correct his posture so that it is easier for him to do the action without getting injured. He didn't even realize that he was doing it wrongly and he was thankful that I was there to help him, he might have gotten injured really badly and he might not be able to perform basic tasks without feeling pain.

And then I realized that he is not the only one who doesn't know how to work out the right way without getting themselves injured even though they have been working out for a very long time, I knew how to work out in the right way and I decided to help them correct their problem and help them achieve their goals as well.

I then applied for a job in the same gym and I got the job immediately without any issues, there was looking for a handsome fitness trainer and I clearly was the right fit for it, they didn't have to search long and hard for me. I only lived 20 minutes away from them and that I am passionate about working out, I can help them get more customers that I get more than any fitness trainers in the gym.

But that was nearly 5 years ago and I have started to get bored of my job, I was tired of helping people lose weight because it is such a easy thing to achieve but they choose to rebound their weight by binging on their favourite food after they have achieved their goal weight. Humans are just so stubborn and I can't force them on a strict diet for long, they would follow it but they would get tired of it after sometime and try their way to beat the system.

And they would fail and go back to the weight before they started, it is just a waste of their money if they break their promises to lose weight. I swear that they are just that rich to waste money on a gym membership that they will not even use...

My client got off the treadmill and I handed her the sweaty towel that was on the bench, she takes it and wipes her body. "Is that all for today? I feel like I am going to lose weight by the end of this month."

No, it would at least take a year for you to just lose 5 kilograms... I nodded. "It is good to work out almost every day but you should also watch your diet, it is not going to help if you are always drinking bubble tea all the time."

"I know, I have stopped drinking bubble tea for a week." She held up her tumbler and showed it to me. "I have only drank plain water and I have cut down on a lot of fast food."

I raised an eyebrow at that comment. "Is that so? Then what is that French fry that came out from your bag? It must have gotten in there when you were eating lunch earlier. And that tumbler is opaque but I could tell that it is a cold drink it there, the straw is for sucking the pearls and you are definitely drinking bubble tea, the stains on your clothes clearly tells me that."

She immediately puts down the tumbler in shock. "No, I am so sorry that I have lied to you but it is just so hard to not drinking bubble tea or eat fast food. And plus, I will still be able to lose all of that weight without having to change my diet."

"You may look lean but your fat percentage isn't the right amount that you should have, it is leaning towards people who are obese. You still can change your diet before it is too late, it is for you to improve your health and keep fit." I looked at her chart. "If you are still not willing to change for the better, you will have to find another fitness trainer for you to waste your money on. You could have lost that 5 kilograms 3 months ago and it has been 6 months since you hired me as your fitness trainer and I don't see any change at all."

"But Lucas--" I cut her off. "Please address me as Mr trainer, I will allow anyone to call me by my name unless necessary." I looked at her. "So do you trust me? To change your diet and to not waste any more money trying to lose weight when you have been failing to do so, I don't want you to waste money if you are not willing to
change." I told her with a serious face.

She left the gym after seriously considering my words and I have no idea that she would take my advice and start losing weight the right way, it is not my loss if she doesn't reach her goals in time, it just makes me earn more money but I really want to help her achieve her goals in the shortest time possible. It makes them happy being at the goal weight that they wanted to be at and I will be more than willing to help them, in exchange of their happiness.

I returned home and collected the letters that were in my letterbox, most of the letters were just bills that I needed to pay at the end of the month and I would ignore them until it is too late. And there is a very luxurious looking letter out of all those boring envelopes, it is a wedding invitation from my best friend Jungwoo to ask me to be his best man.

And it is Seo Soojin that he is marrying to...
