"I can reassure you that nothing happened between the two of us and I didn't try to do anything to you." I stood up facing Song Yuqi with my clothes on and I tried to calm her down and reassure her that nothing much happened between the both of us last night.

"Then explain to me why am I in your apartment for? If you didn't try to take advantage of me, why am I in your apartment with only my underwear on and nothing else?" She crossed her arms over each other and she looked like she was about to kill me.

"You passed out at the party last night and I have no idea where you lived and the newlyweds disappeared somewhere in the middle of the party, no one else at the party knew where you lived and so I decided to bring you and I have you take my spare bedroom. And as for the underwear part, I am afraid that you might have taken it off yourself when you were sleeping. I am very sure that I didn't remove any piece of your clothing except for your shoes, I can vouch for that because I have the confidence that I didn't touch you inappropriately."

She sighed deeply, she must have not expected this to even happen especially in my apartment, it is not like we had a good ending for the both of us. We had a bad breakup and we went on our separate ways 7 years ago, not expecting to see each other ever again.

But in the past few weeks, fate seemed to bring us together again for some unknown reason, there was the wedding and I met her for the first time in 7 years and she has to attend the same gym that I am working in and now we got invited to the same party because we have the same mutual friends and now we are in my apartment because she has a drunk episode and I had to bring her here to rest for the night. We tried so hard not to meet each other again but we kept meeting each other over and over again as if we planned all of that to happen, I thought that I had moved on with my life but with Song Yuqi back, I don't know what to do with my life anymore.

"Do you want any breakfast? I mean that you drank so much last night and you didn't have anything else after that, you might be feeling a little hungry now." It is the best that I can do for a guest that I brought home without her consent, it is better that we talk more about what happened last night after we have some food in our stomachs. "You are fine with anything I cook right?"

She nodded. "As long as you don't burn the food, I am able to eat everything else." She stood up. "Where is your bathroom? I need to wash up a little."

"It is in the spare bedroom and there is also a washroom next to the kitchen, do you need me to buy anything for you?" She shook her head and she made her way to the toilet while I went to my room and took out some toiletries that she might be able to use such as a spare toothbrush and a new towel, I got her some of my old clothes as well so that she is able to change into her clothes and she doesn't need to wear her old clothes.

I placed them on the bed and I knocked on the door to give her the toothbrush, she looked a little shocked to see me at the door but she still took the toothbrush. It is the basic thing that you should do for someone who stayed overnight at your place and didn't bring anything over, and guests would feel comfortable that you are doing all of that for them.

Song Yuqi came out 20 minutes later  looking more refreshed and she didn't have her makeup on, she looked exactly the same as 7 years ago when she was still a highschooler. How does she not age at all?

"I cooked some pancakes, it is from scratch so it looks a little imperfect. There are also some jams and butter that you can spread the pancakes with, tell me if it is not suited for your tastebuds." I told her as she takes her seat at the dining table.

"Thank you." She said as I handed her a set of cutlery for her to use, she cut a piece of the pancakes and she dipped into the strawberry jam. "Is it homemade?" She asked me.

I nodded. "I used to buy jams spreads from the supermarket but they can be a little too sweet and unhealthy for me so I started to make my own jams, does it taste alright for you?"

"I didn't know that you are so health-conscious, you used to fill your stomach with fast food almost every single day when you are still in high school." She commented as she took a sip of the coffee that I have prepared for her as well.

"People change and I have changed for the better as well, we don't stay the same forever. I am sure that you have changed a little as well." I exhaled before asking her the question that I want to know the most. "How has your life been for the past 7 years?"

I know that I asked her the exact same question last night but she was drunk last night and she probably didn't answer me what was on her mind exactly, it is better for me to ask her again when she is sober and she knows exactly what I am asking her. "Life has been turning out great for me, I got a job in Beijing and they posted me here to work here for the next 2 years, the contract can be extended but I am not sure if I still want to stay here after the two years is up. I am dating someone right now and it is a long-distance relationship but we are happy with the arrangement."

"That's great, I am glad that you are happy with your life." I am not that happy at the fact that she has a boyfriend and I don't have someone to date, I am not ready to love anyone the same way that I have loved Song Yuqi 7 years ago.

"I heard that you are also dating someone else as well, the guys talked about it at the wedding." She directed the question to me. "Are you happy being a personal trainer?"

I nodded. "It is a job where you can teach people how to be healthy and you can be healthy as well," I told her.  "About the girlfriend thing, I am not in a relationship at all. I just prefer to be single right now, at least I don't need to take care of them all the time." I told her my true opinion of why I am single for a few years now. "We can still be friends, right? After all that had happened 7 years ago?"
