After my brother and my friend nearly got into a fight, my mood was kind of ruined. I honestly thought Ron wouldn't care who I was friends with but no like always he has to control every second of my life. The entire time Jacob was leading us outside, I was deadly silent, afraid that if I spoke I would just rant for an hour and I didn't want to put him through that. By the time we got outside, I could tell Jacob was getting nervous because he was fiddling with his hands. He led me to a tree and we sat down underneath it.
"You've been quiet for a long time. Are you okay?" He shifted on the floor, obviously uncomfortable. He was staring at the ground, refusing to look at me. I smiled at him.
"Yeah, I'm just so mad at Ron. I bet now you see why I wanted to keep you two away from each other." He laughed and shook his head so his hair fell in his eyes.
"I'm sure he'll get over it." We lapsed into an easy silence after that, both of us just gazing up at the stars. "Hey, can I ask you something?"
"Sure, what's up?" He took a deep breath and stared at me with his brown eyes glistening.
"Do you like me?" I was about to respond but he cut me off. "Not in a friend way, but as something more. Do you think you could ever like me as more?" I closed my mouth and looked at the ground, staring at one piece of grass hoping that if I stared hard enough it would make me disappear. I breathed in, shakily and looked at him.
"Honestly? I'm not sure. I guess I could but I'm just not ready yet. We're still so young and if we did get together I'm almost certain my brother would kill you." I nudged his arm and he laughed. "Ask me again next year of the year after and maybe my answer will be different. He nodded.
For the rest of the evening, he and I just sat and talked. Before long, my eyes were drooping so Jacob took me back into the castle. I was just about to walk into the common room when he grabbed my arm and said, "I'll wait until you're ready Gina. I promise." I gave him a quick hug and then I went straight to bed. I fell asleep almost the instant my head hit the pillow.

The next morning, I woke to my two best friends staring at me from the end of my bed, their eyes expectant. To say I was not startled would've been a blatant lie. "Hi?" I said to them warily.
"So?" Kelly asks, expectantly. Before I can even reply, Danielle jumps in and exclaims:
"How was the evening with Jacob?" I sigh a roll-off the bed and go to get dressed.
"It was fine, I guess. Nothing interesting happened, I mean the most exciting thing that happened was my brother and he were introduced." Kelly and Danielle both visibly groan.
"How'd that go?" Kelly asks sympathetically. I quickly explain to them exactly how it went and by the end of it, they were both almost in tears, laughing.
"Stop laughing! It's not funny." I grumble. When they continued to laugh, I threw a pillow at them and left for the Great Hall. Time to do some damage control.
***Authors note***
Sorry it has been so long guys, things have just been crazy with school and Christmas etc but I swear I'll be writing more often from now on. Also, would you guys be mad if I did a time skip to maybe year 4/5 so I can start making some romances and more teenage problems happen?
