Hufflepuff In The Family

The Quidditch World Cup

23rd July 1994

Dear Diary,

I woke to the sound of my mother pounding on the door. I groaned and looked out the window. The sun hadn't even risen yet. Ginny mumbled in her sleep and turned over. That girl sleeps like the dead. I threw my pillow at her and she yelped as it hit her face. I laughed as she sat up, her falling in her face. 

We quickly threw some clothes on and began to make our way downstairs. As we entered the kitchen, Harry, Ron and Hermione were already sat down at the table. The three looked how I felt. I yawned as I took a seat next to Ron. 

"How did everyone sleep?" I ask everyone. Ron grumbled in response and Harry rolled his eyes. "I'll take that as a 'not well'" I laugh and Ginny snorted beside me.

Mum served breakfast soon after and we all fell quiet, eating the delicious food she had prepared. Before long, we had all cleared our plates and Dad, Fred and George joined us. We all picked up our stuff, kissed Mum goodbye and were out the door. 

Dad and the twins took the lead with the rest of us stumbling behind. Hermione and Ginny were giggling together in front of us, while Harry, Ron and I chatted behind them. 

"So Gina, you excited for the fourth year to start?" Harry asked. 

"Kinda. I mean it's just like all the other years," I shrugged. Harry nodded. 

"Yeah, I get that. Who knows maybe this year someone won't try to kill us," Harry joked, his green eyes glistening. Ron barked out a sharp laugh and I smiled with them. He joked but I doubted it was a joke on his half. It must be so terrifying for someone to constantly be out to get him and who knows what kind of trouble he and my brother would find themselves in this year. 

I quickened my pace to catch up to Ginny and Hermione, leaving Harry and Ron behind me.
