Chapter 12: The Cliff

   The boy had woken up and was curled by the fire. You sat next to him, "Hello there." He looked at you, emotionless. "My name's Leona. What's your name?" He looked down, "K-Kae.." You smile and hold out your hand, "Nice to meet you. How old are you?" He licked his lips and responded, "17, what about everyone else here?" You tell him, "Poppy is 17, Jackie is 18, Chase is 18 too and so am I. Oliver...I dont know, I think hes 19 or 20." He nodded then shivered.

   "Why were you out there? The weather has been so chaotic recently. How did you not freeze? And how did you find us?" You realize you asked to many questions, as he looked a little scared. "S-sorry...I cant answer those." You nod, then glance over at Chase. He was sleeping, peacefully. Then you looked out to the cliff.

    The vision came back and you heard a small whisper from Mirso. "Be careful around there." You got confused, "Mirso? Why are you whispering?" Oliver peeked his eye open and watched you, he took a shaky breath. He knew what was coming. Mirso didnt respond.

    Oliver got up and you looked at him. "Leona?...I need-" He looked at you with the saddest, guiltiest face you've ever seen. "I-I, nevermind. It's not important." You grab his hand, and he blushes, looking down. "Hey. Oliver? What is going on? You can tell me." A tear rolled down his cheek and he knelt down and then hugged you, crying on your shoulder. Your eyes widened as you wrapped your arms around him and rocked him a little. "Its okay, I'm here." He sniffled, and let go of you, wiping his eyes. You cup his face and wipe away a few rolling tears. He smiled and turned his head so your hand was over his lips and he kissed your hand. You blushed heavily and then he got up and went outside. You sat there, freaking out internally.

    Jackie was outside as well now. When did that happen? You sigh and look at Poppy who was grinning like a fool. "Tomorrow we have to continue, the north is just over this mountain." She nodded and then looked at Chase and curled up next to him. Kae yawned and fell asleep again.  The weather was really getting to them. You find your eyelids dropping and soon fall asleep.

   You woke up to the darkness outside, Jackie was standing on the overhang, holding a limp body in one hand. She looks back at you with a gleaming smile  and throw the body off. You rush to her and she grabs you by the throat. "Dont fall in love with one to die."
