Chapter 4

Weeks go by and I barely hear from Rashad and at this point I'm done with him. No more texting and calling him all the time and getting one-word reply's...if I get one at all. I need to save the little time I do have left of my summer and have some fun. I Spent all morning just laying down in my room, Moping around sad. But I'm over it!

I'm about to stop by this cute little Restaurant by my house and meet up with my girls. We were thinking of going to the beach after and hanging out.

My mom always says that the best way to get over a funk is by looking good. So, I take my sweet time getting ready today. I brush my thick curly hair into a ponytail and make sure that my baby hair is popping. I throw on a cute yellow summer dress that have little daisies all over. With my slim thick hourglass figure, I know I'm Working this dress. I paired it with my white sandals and white bag.

I called all my close friends and we all are meeting there. I go downstairs to tell my mom I'm stepping out. I find her in the living room reading a book.

Mom I'm heading to brunch with the girls -Ocean

You are looking extra good - Mrs. Williams (Ocean mom)

Thank you, mom, -Ocean

Yelp you look just like me when I was in high school -Mrs. Williams

Yeah, I know then I came along and mess up your body- Ocean

Yeah now I have too much hips and my stomach can never be that flat- Mrs. Williams

Mom you know you still look good that's why people always ask us if we're sisters-Ocean

You're right I still got it-Mrs. Williams (laughing)

So, mom can I use the car. I wanted to meet the girls there. -Ocean

Yeah you can have it, I'm hosting the book club today I must catch up on the chapters then Im tidying up the place after. -Mrs. Williams

have fun mom and thanks -Ocean (walking to the kitchen to grab the car keys off the counter)

You too sweetie -Mrs. Williams

I walk back to my mom and give her a kiss goodbye. It's great that my mom is hosting the book club today that means I can have the car all night. That club is just an excuse for her and her friends to get drunk off wine and gossip.

I get the restaurant and it looks like I'm the last one to show up. I can see Darlene, Stacy, and Angel.

Hey girls-Ocean (walking to their table)

Hey sis-Stacy

Stacy is one of my closest friends. We are co-presidents of the spoken word club in school. She one of the coolest people I know with the dopest style. She's always had this boho black power look to her. Like now she has a long black dress with multiple rings and necklaces. She paired it with a colorful head Scarf. She's like the total opposite of Angel. Her name might be Angel, but she is more like the devil. This girl is blunt and have this I don't give a fuck attitude about everything.  I believe every group of friends have one slut and she's ours. She's always wearing some S&M Outfit that looks great with her light brown skin and pixie cut black hair. Like now she's wearing a red tight tub top set with a matching red skirt. Then there's Darlene my longest friend. She the life of the party. She's wearing a white dress shirt with a nice distress jeans and heels and her hair in this long ponytail. 

So clearly y'all started before me -Ocean (seeing that the girls have drinks already)

Yeah girl we love this place bottomless mimosas and they don't card- Darlene

Yeah, we need to brunch more often -Stacy

You need to call our fine ass waiter back over here and try to catch up-Angel

Say less-Ocean (I look around and see the waiter is already coming our way. Make my order and the girls put in their order for food.)

So what's going on Ocean, Darlene was just telling us about the crazy party y'all went to. -Stacy

Did Darlene tell y'all how she ditch me when the shooting started. -Ocean

I didn't just ditch you, David grab me and told me that he sent Salt to get you-Darlene

And you thought I wanted to be in a car with Salt-Ocean

No but shit was crazy, and I knew that Salt would get you home safe-Darlene

Yeah whatever I can't stand him-Ocean

I always thought he had a little crush on you-Angel

Ewwww no! Nothing will ever happen between me and Salt. And I don't think so...his just like the older big brother I never wanted. -Ocean

Well he's cute and I see his been getting money now-Angel

Yeah, he's getting money, all the wrong ways and it seems like he's bringing Rashad in his mess-Ocean

I mean when I got to the party Rashad was high and acting all crazy. But the thing that took the cake is when the shooting started, I saw Rashad grab a gun. -Ocean

What!!!!- Stacy, Angel, and Darlene

I knew Rashad had been hanging out with the boys more, but I didn't know he was caught up in salt shit-Darlene

You need to have a talk with David ass too. Cause the last time I spoke with Salt he kept talking about keeping it in the family and some shit-Ocean

(The waiter comes now and give out the orders)

I mean it's not all bad that means they going to be getting money too-Angel

That's not what I want I'm not trying to be a gangster "girl" and all that money don't mean shit when they end up in jail-Ocean

I did speak to David and he said it's not like that -Darlene

You need to talk to him again cause I definitely heard that Salt and his gang has been pushing pills -Stacy

Whatever I so don't want to talk  about Rashad, I need a break from that shit-Ocean

Yeah let's finish our brunch and head over to the beach we can just relax and go boy shopping lol -Stacy

I'm down with the boy shopping I hit a rut recently. No one has been hitting me up. -Angel

No boys for me I'm good, but I'll be your wing women-Darlene

I'm down for whatever at this point, I'm just here to have fun I have my swimsuit in the car-Ocean
