Getting in exhausted from rehearsals, I dumped my bag on my bed and headed into the bathroom to run a bath. As I opened the bathroom door, I noticed a note hanging on the door. Taking the note off of the door, I read it. “Hotel lobby at 10pm – don’t be late. G x”

Grinning to myself, I put the note down on the dressing table and went to have my bath. All the way through my bath, I tried to relax but all I could think about was why George wanted me to meet him late at night and, less importantly, how George managed to get into my room without a key. By the time I’d had my bath and dried my hair, it was 8pm. As I stood staring into my wardrobe at all my clothes, I struggled to find anything decent enough to wear, especially as I didn’t know what we were doing. In the end I decided to wear my skinny jeans and Rihanna top.

As I curled my hair, my phone rang. “Sammy, have you seen what they’re saying about you and George in the magazines?” Chloe asked as I answered the phone.

“What?” I asked, curling another strand of my hair, not really taking notice of what Chloe said in the first place.

“You’re dating?”

“Who’s dating?”

“You and George?” Chloe verified. “That’s what the magazines are all saying. You’ve made it on the front page of Heat magazine.”

“We’re not though,” I laughed, looking at my reflection in the mirror as I curled my hair, still debating as to whether I should leave my hair down or whether I should put it up.

“According to this you’ve been dating for months,” Chloe said, as if she was reciting the lies the magazine read. “Sammy Jones and George Shelley of Union J met in bootcamp and hit it off straight away.”

I could tell in the tone of her voice that she didn’t believe me and believed what the magazines were saying instead. “We haven’t though. We met in auditions and became friends but that’s it.”

“Sammy, if anything was going on; you’d tell me… wouldn’t you?”

“Chloe, we’ve been best friends since forever. Of course I would tell you if anything was going on between me and George,” I said.

“So what is going on between you two then?” she asked.

“Honestly? We’re taking things slow,” I said.

“Knew you were together” she laughed.

“We’re not together though. We’re just taking things slow,” I grinned as I finished curling my hair, deciding to keep my hair down.

“You will be together though,” she laughed.

“He wants to meet up later,” I said, completely ignoring her comment without the usual dismissal I gave them sort of comments.

“Later? Later as in casual later or later as in on your own later?” she asked.

“As in on our own later,” I said.

“I’ve got to go now. Mum wants me to go help out in the bar for a bit, but promise you’ll text me everything after?”

“I promise,” I grinned.

“Have fun, stay safe, I love you and miss you loads,” Chloe said.

“I love and miss you more,” I beamed, just before she hung up.

At five to ten, I began to walk down the stairs towards the lobby. As I got to the bottom of the stairs on the ground floor, I looked into the mirror and checked my reflection. Although I had minimal make-up on, I looked older than normal – I kind of liked it. As I pulled my Rihanna top down and my jeans up, Jade came up the stairs. “You look nice,” she smiled. “Going somewhere?”
