This part will be from George's point of view.

“I’ll go get some drinks,” I smiled as I got up. “Same again for everyone?”

“I’ll come help you,” Luke said, getting up.

As I walked past Sammy towards the bar, she grabbed hold of my hand and gave me a funny look before looking at Luke as he made his way to the bar. “It’s fine,” I smiled.

By the time I got to the bar, Luke had already ordered the drinks. “So George, I’ve not really had chance to talk to you properly yet,” he said to me. “I’m Sammy’s step-brother.”

“Hi,” I smiled awkwardly.

“So I hear you really love my sister then.”

I froze – I just didn’t know what to say. Was I meant to say yes? Was I meant to say no? Was I meant to run away and crawl into a ball in the corner of the room? “Yeah,” I finally replied.

“Do me a favour, George,” he said, looking at me seriously. “Don’t hurt her.”

“I won’t. That’s the last thing I want to do.”

“She’s been through so much hurt in her life – I just don’t want her to go through any more,” he said.

Although I was watching the bartender pour out the drinks, I could feel Luke’s eyes still watching me.

“She may act strong and that she has everything together, but inside she’s vulnerable and can fall apart so easily. I know she loves you. You can tell just by the way she looks at you that she loves you. I just want to make sure that you love her like she loves you as I’m a boy and I know what we’re like.”

“I really do love her,” I smiled as the bartender handed me my drink. “She’s my everything.”

“So you’re not using her just for sex?”

I almost sprayed my drink all over Luke as he asked that. “No! I’m not like that,” I said.

“Good,” Luke smiled, picking up the tray of drinks up off the bar counter. “Because if you break her heart, you’ll be sorry.”

As he walked over to everyone back at the table, I stood looking at him. I watched as Sammy sat giggling away with Josh and Hayley. She was perfect – breaking her heart was the last thing I’d ever want. Sammy stopped laughing with everyone when she realised I was stood at the bar still, watching everyone. I could see her say something to everyone before standing up and making her way over to me with her usual gorgeous smile on her face.

“What’s up with you?” she asked me.

There was no way I was telling her I was scared of her older brother. Sammy knows I’m not a real hard man but I didn’t want her to think that I’m as soft as a teddy bear though. “You know that I’m never going to hurt you, don’t you?” I blurted out without even thinking.

“Yeah.”

“And you know I love you, don’t you?”

“Yeah,” she laughed. “What’s brought this on?”

“Nothing,” I grinned to her, wrapping my arm around her shoulder.

“You’re so weird,” she giggled to me as we walked back to the table.
