“This is it,” I smiled to myself as I checked my outfit out in the mirror to make sure I didn’t look stupid for the last ever group performance on the X Factor.

As I looked at my reflection in the mirror, I started to get emotional. I couldn’t help but run through all the memories I had made on this show - from the moment mum made me sign up online last year to the moment I auditioned and met George to the moment I got voted off. I had had some downs on this show, but most of all, I had had the most amazing time in my entire life and I had met some of the most amazing people that I could have ever dreamt of meeting.

“Hey, what’s up?” Lucy laughed to me as I tried to wipe the tear that rolled down my cheek quickly away so nobody noticed, evidently failing.

“I’m just gonna miss everyone,” I smiled.

“You’ve got the tour and we’re all gonna stay in contact,” Lucy grinned, hugging me.

“It’s not going to be the same though,” I said.

“Stop being silly,” she laughed.

We stood in the middle of the prep room hugging. “My girls,” Rylan laughed as he joined in the hug.

“I love you two so much,” I smiled as they both squeezed me tightly.

“Not as much as I love you two,” Rylan chuckled.

“Me neither. I love you both more than you love us, okay?” Lucy joined in.

“Five minutes until you’re all on,” the producer announced before rushing back down the corridor towards the main arena where 10,000 people were awaiting for our final performance.

Rylan let go of us and ran to the opposite side of the room to get sorted whilst I had a final look at my reflection in the mirror. Everybody’s outfits were sticking to whites and blacks and greys with glitter and sequins to stay in the Christmas theme. My outfit was a strapless dress with a white corset bodice and a black figure-hugging skirt with a huge black bow belt around my waist that was covered with lots of sequins and silver glitter stilettos. Jamie had curled my hair into beach waves and put a bow in my hair to match the bow around my waist.

“Ready?” George asked me as he wrapped his arms around my waist, startling me a little.

“Yeah,” I smiled.

“It’s not the end,” he whispered. “Trust me.”

“I know,” I grinned as he continued to hug me from behind. “It’s just the beginning.”

“Start of something new,” he smiled.

“Don’t even think about singing a High School Musical song again,” Jaymi said, turning to look around at us from the sofa where he was sat with Josh and JJ. “Had enough of that on the way to Paris.”

“Paris,” I said as all the memories came flooding back.

“Sammy,” Lucy laughed. “Stay strong.”

“I can do this,” I smiled, holding back all the emotions.

“Three minutes,” the producer said as he ran back into the room.

As he walked out, he turned around, obviously expecting us to be following him. “Come on,” he ordered.

George let go of my waist and held hold of my hand as we both walked out of the prep room to head back into the main arena. Everyone walked in front of us, apart from Josh, JJ and Jaymi who were adamant to walk behind us.

“No scooters today boys?” Rylan joked as we stopped beneath a block of seats, waiting for Dermot to run the programme to the ad break.

“JJ almost fell off it last night so we thought it’d be best to leave it for tonight,” Jaymi laughed.
