Rolling over, I saw George lying next to me asleep. My head was pounding but I still found the strength to smile at the sight of him. I looked around the room in confusion. I couldn’t even remember any of last night apart from doing the Cha Cha Slide with Jaymi – the rest was a blur. I couldn’t even remember how I got back to my room. “George,” I whispered, poking his arm as I realised we had half an hour until rehearsals for tonight’s final.

“Yeah,” he groaned, trying to shield his eyes from the daylight that shone through the curtains.

“We’ve got thirty minutes until rehearsals,” I said, putting my head back on the pillow beside him.

“I’d better go get sorted then,” he sighed, sitting up on the bed.

“I feel terrible,” I laughed, rubbing my eyes as my head continued to thump like it was a baseline stereo.

“You were completely out of it last night,” he grinned.

“George..” I said, realising his shirt wasn’t buttoned up and my dress was twisted around my chest.

“What?” he smiled as he put his phone into his jeans pocket.

“Did we..” I began.

“Nothing happened,” he smiled, leaning over to kiss me. “You tried it on but I wouldn’t take advantage like that.”

I smiled up at him, a little relieved. As he began to walk towards the door, I jumped up from the bed and hobbled after him, still in my heels from last night. “I’ll see you at rehearsals later,” I said as I leant against the hotel room door as George stood in the corridor, looking at me.

“Try look a little less hungover though,” he grinned. “Me and the boys tried so hard to hide the fact you were drunk.”

“I will,” I giggled.

As George and I smiled at each other, we heard some commotion from down the corridor. Looking down to where the noise was coming from, we saw Christopher walking down towards us, walking side to side. “I’ll see you later,” George grinned, quickly giving me a kiss on the cheek.

Looking back down the corridor, Christopher smiled at me. “Hello Sammy,” he said, slurring his words. “Have you seen Gary?”

Before I had chance to reply, Christopher had already stumbled past me and George. “Someone’s drunk,” I laughed to George.

“You were worse than that so you can’t talk,” he winked. “Anyway, bye.”

After giving me one final kiss, he walked off down the corridor, following Christopher as I went back into my room to get showered.

“Has anyone seen Chris this morning?” one of the producers asked as we all stood on stage, getting ready to rehearse our final ever performance on the X Factor.

“Me and George saw him about an hour ago,” I smiled. “He seemed drunk though.”

The producer rushed back off stage and through the empty arena towards a group of the production team.

“Right, from the top,” Brian grinned as we all got into our starting positions.

“When the snowman brings the snow, well you just might like to know, he’s put a great big smile on somebody’s face,” JJ, Jaymi, Josh and George began to sing as they stood on a box in the middle of one of the aisles in the arena.

Listening to them singing, I looked around at all the empty seats. It was amazing to think that in just over eight hours they would be filled with thousands of screaming fans waiting for the winner of the X Factor 2012 to be announced.
