As the plane had touchdown on London Heathrow's runway, we all looked at each other in pure disappointment. The judges' houses' part of the competition was officially over - now for the hard time in the whole competition.. the live shows. The girls that didn't get through to the live shows were allowed a few extra days in St. Lucia while me, Jade Ellis and Lucy Spraggan flew back to England to prepare for the next part of the competition. I hadn't managed to tell mum or Michael the good news yet as my phone died half way across the Atlantic ocean on the way there. I couldn't wait to see the looks on their faces when I told them.

We all walked through arrivals dragging our suitcases along behind us; all exhausted from the nine hour flight and the excitement of the week we'd just had.

"I can't wait to see my baby girl," Jade grinned as we went through customs.

"I can't wait to sleep in my own bed," Lucy chuckled.

"I can't wait to have to put three hoodies on at once to stop myself from freezing to death after spending the last week in shorts and bikinis," I joked.

"Oh, I know," Jade said. "I've made my mum bring me mine when she picks me up with Caiden."

"Bet you missed her tons," I smiled.

"Yeah," Jade nodded. "Don't know how I'll survive in the live shows not being able to see her every day."

"Do you reckon they'd let me have my own bed moved into the hotel?" Lucy laughed as we walked through the arrivals.

Stood in the middle of the airport terminal was mum, Michael, Kate - my aunty, Jonathan - Kate's fiancé and my granddad. As soon as I saw them, I ran up to them and threw my arms around them, leaving my suitcase stood in the middle of the floor of the terminal unattended.

"Are you through?" mum asked, hugging me tightly. You could tell just from the hug that she had missed me loads.

I paused for a few seconds. "YES!" I screamed.

"I knew you would," mum grinned, giving me another hug and kissing my forehead.

"Well done sweetheart," granddad smiled to me, kissing my cheek.

"Does this mean that we are going to have to travel down to London every weekend to see you do your thing and meet Dermot O'Leary?" Kate laughed, teasing Jonathan at the same time over her little obsession over Dermot.

"Yes, sadly," I giggled.

"Well we're so proud of you, our little star," she grinned, hugging me.

"Sammy," mum said, sounding serious. "We need to talk to you."

I looked at her puzzled. "Yeah," I smiled as she pulled me aside with Michael.

"We've got some good news ourselves," Michael grinned, putting his arm around mum's waist.

I looked at them both. News? I’d only been gone a week. How much could have possibly changed in the past seven days?

"I'm pregnant, Sammy," mum beamed, placing her hand gently on her stomach.

I looked at her in shock. My jaw dropped slightly as I realised what she had just said. "What?" I said, trying to understand what she had just told me.

"We're having a baby," mum grinned. “You’re gonna be a big sister.”

I looked at them both in shock. I'd always wanted a younger brother or sister and now that dream was about to become a reality. Growing up as the only child was boring and lonesome at the best of times so a baby brother or sister was a dream come true. On the other hand, I didn't know whether I should be thrilled over the fact that I was going to have a younger sibling or whether I should be disgusted over the fact that my mum and Michael had actually had sex. To be honest, it made me feel a little bit sick thinking about the whole thing.
