Jaden's POVThe bell rang and the students made their way to the cafeteria. While I sat there trying to figure out what that grin meant.
Does that even mean a thing?
Does he know me?
Is he planning to do something?
Why am I even wasting my time thinking of that asshole? I have better things to do but something about him seems to bother me... I shouldn't get involved with him I thought to myself as I walked toward the cafeteria.
I took my meal and sat down in the corner of the cafeteria, where no one sits. The cafeteria was noisy as usual, which annoys me. So I take my meal and head outside to the backyard of the school, to sit in peace.
As I was walking I felt someone staring daggers into my back. I felt goosebumps crawl on my skin. But when I turned to look back. I couldn't pinpoint the person that was watching me because everyone seemed to be doing their own thing. So I just brushed it off and made my way to the backyard.

Finally, some peace even though the bustling noise from the cafeteria could still be heard. It wasn't that bad. My brain felt like it was muting the noises as I focused on my surroundings the noises faded. It was soothing and peaceful, to say the least.
Suddenly the sound of distinct footsteps walking towards me got me out of my trance as I turned my head, a petite girl was walking towards me. Just for a split second, I thought it was the guy I saw this morning.
I don't know his name. I just knew him as the heartthrob of our school, as girls always gather around him like butterflies, fluttering around the web of a spider, not knowing that when they get trapped they are done for.
She was now in front of me. The girl gave me a bright smile. Which I couldn't return I just stared at her blankly. She was gorgeous, she had long eyelashes, peachy skin, and light blond wavy hair with cute dimples buried in her cheek as she smiled which made her look even cuter.
Any boy would be drooling all over her, but me...I felt nothing.
"Hey! What are you doing here? "
I stared at her intensely trying to get words out of my mouth but all I could get out was.
"Uhh...e-excuse me."
My voice cracked as I tried to speak. It's been so long since I had a normal conversation with an actual person since the only person I talked to was myself so, it was difficult to word my thoughts out. But somehow I managed to speak out a few words.
"Uhh...just eating..."
The way I said it, sounded like I was annoyed but I wasn't. The girl had a look of guilt on her face as she must have thought that I was not interested in her talks. She smiled, but I could see the concern in her eyes.
"Am I disturbing you?"
She asked as I blandly replied.
"No."
Which made her question herself as she smiled uncertainly.
"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. How rude of me. Hi, I am Cassandra Watson."
She offered me her hand which I shook awkwardly and she continued.
"And you ?"
I answered.
"Jaden Christopher."
I answered in a low voice. She smiled.
"It was nice meeting you, Jade. I have to go, can't keep my friends waiting... bye!"
She waved her hands as she walked away.
The bell rang. Everyone started making their way to class and so did I.••••••••
I locked my locker and I made my way toward the entrance of the school to leave the school premises.
I heard a familiar voice calling my name. I turned to find the petite girl in front of me. She gave me her charming smile which could melt any guy, leaving me. I stared at her as if she was a creature from a different dimension.
"You are so cute!"
She wheezed while she giggled I stared at her intensely, taken back by her words.
"Cute?"
I replied confused.
"Yeah, you're cute! Why don't you talk to anyone? I have seen you around. But you seem to be lost in your own world. I wanted to speak to you, but I couldn't. And today I saw you there and I thought this was a great chance to talk to you... By the way, you're going home, right? I can give you a ride if you want."
She babbled without a break, while I stood there in total awe trying to make sense of what was going on.
Why was she talking to a person like me?
Why was she so kind to me?
Can I even trust her?
We just met...
"No... I prefer walking..."
I replied and she just shrugged in disappointment.
"That's okay maybe some other day then, see ya!"
She walks away.
I don't know why but she reminds me of that guy, I saw outside the window. I don't want to have any association with them. My life was nothing...It's like I didn't exist. I didn't care about people and people didn't care about me. But then why all of a sudden are people approaching and noticing my existence? Things were fine when nobody knew me.
I don't feel good... I don't know what is bothering me but whatever it is, I can't let them get in my head.
Jaden decided to spend half of his time in the library studying and reading books. He lost track of time. When he took a glance at the hanging clock it was already nine so he decided to leave.

Jaden's POV
As soon as I entered my house I was welcomed by the smell of alcohol which made me frown as I covered my nose with my hands and proceeded toward my room.
I heard soft mourns coming from my father's room. I knew what was going on. This wasn't the first time he brought his girlfriend home. Sometimes I wished they both died during their intercourses.
I just ignored it and walked upstairs and threw myself on my bed. I was too tired to get angry. My eyes were getting heavy. I stared at the ceiling and slowly shut my eyes and fell asleep.
