"No! No, he can't." I cried and Adam had to hold me back.

I finally gave in and became sloppy in Adam's arms. The tears ran down my cheeks and my eyes were red and puffy.

"I am so sorry that Cameron is gone." Mr Phobes replied softly, trying to maintain his tears.

"He can't be dead. He just can't. It takes much more to kill a vampire. How?" I sobbed.

"I don't know." Mr Phobes shrugged his shoulders.

"Come on, Audrey, let's get you home." Adam said.

His voice was sincere and calm which made me relax. I nodded reluctantly and allowed Adam to lead me, through the woods, towards the house. We walked in silence all the way home. Adam opened the front door for me and I stepped into the comfort of my home. I heard the door closing and footsteps coming up behind me. I felt Adam's hands on my shoulders.

"Audrey, are you alright?" His voice was barely a whisper.

I nodded and started walking upstairs to my room, without throwing a second glance at Adam. I had lost my best friend. I had gotten out of the shower a few minutes later, around 12 am, with a towel around my body. I heard a knock at the door and turned the doorknob. The door opened and revealed Adam standing in the doorway.

"You still haven't answered my question. Are you alright, Audrey?" He asked and stepped into my room, closing the door behind him.

"No, Adam. I am not. I just lost my best friend tonight. Of course I am not okay." I replied harshly. "Sorry, you don't deserve to be treated like this. I just don't know what is going on. What on earth could Eros have done to kill a vampire?"

Adam's muscular arms pulled me into a hug. At first I was completely surprised at his actions, but I couldn't resist to hug him back. I wrapped my arms around his middle and returned his affectionate hug. The hug lasted for minutes before he broke it up.

"I am so sorry about Cameron. He was a nice guy, or so I noticed while training with him." Adam said sadly.

"Thank you for your help tonight, Adam." I gave him a soft smile, "Shit!"

I realized that I was still wearing the towel, and only the towel, around my naked body. Adam gently grabbed hold of my arm and pulled me into him. He slammed his lips against mine and my whole world turned upside down. I didn't know if my heart or mind was in control anymore. All I knew was that I enjoyed the taste of his lips and I wanted to stay in his arms forever.

**********

I woke up the next morning to the twittering of birds and the rays of sunlight shining into the room. I gave a yawn and turned to my right and I looked straight into a slumbering Adam's face. I had almost forgotten we slept together last night. I climbed out of bed and draped my gown around my naked body.

"Audrey?" I heard Adam mumble in his husky, morning voice.

I turned around after I had tied my gown. I walked over to his side of the bed and leaned in, giving him a good morning kiss. I pulled away from his lips and smiled at him.

I felt his arms encircle my waist and pulled me onto the bed. I gave a laugh and cuddled him. He held me tightly against his body and gave me a kiss on the temple.

"How are you feeling?" He asked concerned.

"Honestly, I don't know. I just can't get over the fact that he is actually gone. It is hard to accept." I managed to get out without crying.

My room door opened and my mother stepped into the room, not expecting Adam to be here with me. I jumped off of the bed and Adam closed himself up with the covers.

"Good morning, honey. Good morning, Adam." My mother cleared her throat.

"Good morning, Luna Wendy." Adam greeted kindly.

My mother and I made eye-contact and we both burst out laughing. That was always one of the things I loved about my mother. She had a sense of humour and was understanding in every situation.

"I just came up to tell you breakfast is ready and that Mr Phobes came over to tell us about Cameron's death. I am so sorry" My mother informed us.

"Thank you, mother. We will be down in a few seconds for breakfast and then I will head over to the vampires and give my condolences." I told my mom while searching for an outfit to wear.

My mother left the room and I got dressed in a red hoodie-dress with the word "Music" written in white, cursive writing on the top matched with my white All-Stars. I brushed out my hair and left it hanging curly down my back. Adam went to his room to get dressed too. We met on our way down to the kitchen.

"I am sorry to hear about Cameron." My father said during breakfast.

I played around with my food on my plate. I didn't feel like eating. It hurt to bring up Cameron while his death was still such a raw memory.

"Audrey," My father began, "Your mother told me and Mr Prospero that you and Adam are a couple now."

I didn't expect him to bring that up during breakfast.

"Yes, Alpha Tyrik, yes we are." Adam replied, noticing my silence.

Mr Prospero shot me and Adam an approving smile. He always wanted us to get together and so did my father. Before my father could part his lips to say something, one of the omega wolves ran into the mansion and whispered something into my father's ear. He seemed to have understood because he gave a nod before the omega left and he rised from his chair.

"There is someone here." My father said in his authoritive tone.
