"Audrey, come on! It's the last few hours of training before the battle." Cameron shook me to wake me up.

"You are ruining my beauty sleep. I atleast have to look good when I win Eros." I gave him a sleepy grin.

"I like the way you think." Cameron chuckled and pulled the covers off my body. "Come on, sleepy head, time to wake up so we can go train."

When I stepped outside the house, I noticed how grey the clouds were. It promised some rain and I was grateful, because we needed the rain desperately. I was afraid of how it might influence the battle. Cameron came out and noticed me staring up at the clouds.

"Looks like a storm is coming." Cameron said as he walked with me down the stairs.

"I am kind of starting to freak out, Cam. I am afraid the weather might influence the conditions and put me at a disadvantage." I stated in a quivering voice.

"Don't be so negative, Audrey. Who knows? Maybe it puts you at an advantage." Cameron shrugged his shoulders.

I inhaled deeply and blew out the air before I turned towards Cameron.

"No pressure, Audrey." Cameron chuckled as we walked to the training grounds.

**********

The rain was pouring down from the heavens, flooding the ground and everything upon it. The air smelled of wet grass and fresh air. It was pitch black in the middle of the woods. The only light was that which the moon and stars gave off. The whole crowd of vampires and wolfs, including the ones on Eros' side, were clustered around in a circle around the battle grounds. I was soaked right to the roots of my fur. Eros was pacing around in front of me. His lips quivered as he growled at me, revealing his sharp canines.

"You are going to lose." Eros mind-linked me.

"Don't get too excited, Eros." I growled back at him.

We both stopped pacing and positioned ourselves in front of each other, growling, as we started preparing for the battle. I dug my claws into the soil beneath my paws and steadied myself into a defensive posture. I stood ready and waited for Eros to do the same.

"May the best wolf win." Eros grinned at me.

I growled and pounced at him, sinking my teeth into his leg. He howled in pain and spun around. The impact made me lose my grip on his leg. He pushed me onto the ground and I fell hard on top of a rock. He backed away and I stayed laying on the floor, absorbing the pain. My mind wasn't with the battle. I wished Adam was there. I stood up and I could hear Cameron cheering me on.

"You're weak." Eros mind-linked me.

I growled and shut him out before I pounced at him again, pinning him down on the ground and biting him in his neck, but my teeth did not sink in deep enough. He whined in pain and kicked me off of him. I hit a tree with my back and slid down to the floor. I opened my eyes and saw Eros walking towards me with his teeth showing. He snapped at me, but I dodged. He jumped on top of me and bit my neck. I howled and tried to get him off me, but he wouldn't budge. Just as I was getting weaker as he sunk his teeth deeper, my eyes roamed across the crowd of people and they landed on Adam, staring straight back at me.

Seeing Adam gave me the strength I needed. I freed myself from Eros' jaws. I got on all four my paws and my blue eyes narrowed into tiny slits as I stared at Eros. I ran at him and jumped on top of him, biting him wherever I could find place. After he couldn't take anymore, I pinned him down and came in for the kill. The look in his eyes as I came down to kill him made me stop midway. I shifted back into my human form and stood up straight.

Eros shifted too, but laid on the ground, staring up at me with confusion in his eyes. I extended my hand out to him. He reluctantly took it and I pulled him to his feet.

"What are you doing, Audrey?" He asked as he let go of my hand.

"I am not going to kill you, Eros. That's not me." I told him. "What I am saying is that I will give you and your pack another chance. Will you join our pack?"

"You ask me that even after everything I've done?" He asked, looking at me incredulously.

"I do believe in second chances. Sometimes three or four." I chuckled and held out my hand. "Friends?"

"Friends." He smiled and shook my hand.

The people applauded and whistled happily. I gave Eros a pat on the back before all the people ran to him for a meet-and-greet. I stood back and watched the happenings. My mother came and stood next to me.

"Your father would be so proud." My mother smiled and gave me a side hug.

I gave my mother a loving smile before I heard someone speak behind me. I spun around and looked straight into Adam's charming sea-green eyes.

"Adam?" I said breathlessly.

"I think I heard Mr Phobes calling me." My mother said nervously and excused herself.

"What are you doing back here?" I asked when I turned back to face Adam.

"I finished what I had to do in the south. I came back to watch the battle."

"Is that the only reason you came back?" I asked softly.

"No." he said clearly and stepped forward as he cupped my face. "I missed you so much and I am so sorry for everything I said."

I grinned and kissed him passionately a few times, starting a little make-out session. He pulled away and stared lovingly into my eyes.

"I love you, handsome." I said and slid my hand down to his, intertwining our fingers.

"I love you too, beautiful." He pulled me into a hug before we turned to the crowd who were happily standing around and cheered.
