Kaila morphed too and stood next to Drey. Both Drey and Ila growled loudly, showing their sharp canines. The leaves on the trees rattled and out jumped a tall, dark-haired man. Drey and Ila didn't let their guard down and they kept growling at the guy, but when they noticed he meant them no harm, they morphed back into themselves.

"Who are you? I haven't seen you here before." I asked firmly.

"Cameron Everett." He said and extended his hand for a greeting.

I simply eyed it and didn't move a muscle. Kaila graciously shook his hand and smiled kindly at him as he returned the smile.

"What are you? You are no wolf, or I would have smelled you and you aren't a mortal, because they have a distinguishing smell that's not hard to miss." I asked, curious who the man was.

"I am a vampire." He said without thinking and only realised what he had said and to whom he had said it after Drey let out a growl when she morphed.

"State your business here?" I growled loudly.

"I mean no harm, I swear." Cameron started.

"You have no business here. Your kind is not allowed on our turf." Drey growled authoritatively.

Kaila nugded Drey. The wolf disappeared as Drey morphed back to human, giving Cameron a piercing glare.

"Sorry about my friend, she is very protective over our pack. I don't blame her, she is to become alpha." Kaila chuckled awkwardly.

Cameron stared at me as he brushed his hand through his hair awkwardly.

"So, you are the wolf our kind have been talking about?" He asked.

"If you are here to gather secrets from our kind to retell it to your kind, you can leave, because you aren't going to get it here." I said, annoyed at the man's presence.

"Listen, this wasn't my intention. I was roaming the area, doing my usual patrol when I heard people talking. I honestly didn't know how far back I was. It was an honest mistake." Cameron pleaded.

Kaila shot me a look which made me sigh deeply.

"Promise me this won't happen again?" I asked Cameron. I knew that I was breaking the rules. By law, vampires aren't allowed on the wolfves' territory, and by law, we aren't allowed on theirs.

"I promise." He stated.

I lowered my head in a bow before I turned around to leave and nudged Kaila to follow.

**********

"Audrey! It's time for your training!" My father yelled from downstairs, just before sun down.

I slammed my book shut and descended down the stairs where my father patiently waited for me. He looked happy and I wondered why. He was always so serious when it came to training. Never once did he have a smile on his face when we trained together. I moved my gaze to my mother to look for a clue to explain my father's happiness, but my mother wasn't paying any attention.

"Father, why are you so happy?" I asked as we walked through the forest to the training grounds.

"I have some news to share with you, my daughter." My father said happily.

"What is it? Tell me father?" I asked curiously.

"Mr Prospero is coming from the south for your crowning and he is bringing Adam." He told me, smiling.

I looked the other way and rolled my eyes, a little scoff escaped my lips.

"How does this concern me?" My words came out rather rudely.

"He comes from a line of pureblood families. You must know I wish for you two to mate." My father growled at my harsh tone.

I shyly looked down at the ground as my father's growl was like a warning. I quietly followed my father to the training grounds, but when we got there two other wolves were standing there, clearing having a conversation. I pulled my eyes up where they met my father's.

"Who are they?" I asked questioningly.

"Your bodyguards. I have hired them to keep a close watch on you since Eros is to return." My father stated concerned.

"I don't need bodyguards. I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself." I said out loud which caused the two wolves to stop their conversation and stare at us.

My father noticed, because he morphed into Rik and growled at me. The growl was a threat which made me morph into Drey and growl back. The two wolves moved off of the training grounds and stood on the side lines. They watched as Drey and Rik fought. Drey pinned my father down fiercely and growled angrily at him before she got off and stood aside, allowing him to straighten up.

"Tell the two men that I don't need their help or I will refuse to accept the title as alpha on my coronation." Drey mind-linked my father.

"You can't-" My father started, but she cut him off.

"Yes, I can. There is no rule that states I can not and I certainly will if you do not persuade these men that I don't need them." Drey threatened through a mind-link.

My father saw it not worth negotiating and promised to set me free of the bodyguards. I accepted his proposition and headed into the woods, skipping my training. My enormous paws left footprints behind in the wet dirt of the wood path. My claws were covered in mud as I walked onwards. I was not entirely sure where I was heading, but I carried on until there was a ruffle in the trees. Drey stopped in her tracks and looked around her surroundings in bewilderment, her growling growing louder. She sniffed the air and recognized the scent.
