"Audrey, I am so sorry I ran off and didn't give you the chance to explain." Adam took my hand in his and placed a kiss on my knuckles.

"This is not your fault, Adam, and I don't want you blaming yourself." I said hoarsely and brushed his hand with my thumb.

"Audrey, your father and I have something to tell you." Adam said and his eyes rested on my father sitting stiffly on the couch.

"What is it?" My gaze moved from Adam to my father.

"Princess, you have powers. Powers you don't know of. Powers that are stronger that Eros'. Powers that can defeat him and his pack of wolves and vampires." My father started to explain to me while Adam squeezed my hand supportingly.

"What?" I asked shocked beyond measure.

"I didn't want to tell you before, Audrey. At first I was skeptical, but Adam here made me acknowledge a few things that changed my mind." My father continued explaining, making me more confused.

"I don't understand." I shook my head in confusement.

"Audrey, you are the only one that can kill Eros and his whole entire pack of vampires and wolves. Without you, we are all doomed." Adam started explaining.

"I can kill Eros?" I asked to make sense of everything.

"You are the only one who can." My father said.

Silence fell over the three of us as I sat and thought about my responsibilities having powers. I thought hard and long until I eventually made up my mind.

"I will do it, father. I will kill Eros and his pack." I said seriously.

"That's my girl." He stated proudly and placed a fatherly kiss on my temple.

"Duck! Okay good, now dodge. Well done, side-step him. Excellent!" My father praised me and I shifted back to my human.

It has been one month after the attack and I had healed perfectly. If anything, I became stronger, and learned to use my powers. My father and Adam were very supportive and they both trained with me. I really felt like I could do the impossible and defeat Eros once and for all.

"If you fight like you train, Eros won't stand a chance!" Adam came over to me and gave me a high five before he hugged me.

"What do you think, father?" I turned around. "Father?" I asked concerned, seeing him holding his chest and crouched over the ground.

"I am fine." He lied.

"No, you're not. Come on, let's get you inside. I will send for the Healers." I said and hoisted my father up under one arm while Adam took him by the other arm.

"Do you know how long he has been getting chest pains?" One of the Healers asked me.

"No, we don't really talk about his illness. Actually, he doesn't know that I know." I told her truthfully.

"What is wrong with him?" Adam asked and stepped forward.

"It may be a heart disease, we are not sure, but we will do everything we can to see if we can heal him."

"Thank you." I lowered my head sadly and felt Adam's hands caressing my shoulders in sympathy.

"He will be alright. He is the strongest man I know, Audrey." He said and stared at the closed door of my mother and father's room.

We were all under a lot of strain,? I because of my father's illness. The incident on the training grounds drained all our positivity and it was as if a great dam of sadness has broken out over everyone.

"Audrey, one of the vampires requests to see you." An Omega came into my room to inform me.

I put on my coat and headed down the stairs two at a time. I opened the front door and the frosty wind slammed against my skin.

"Mr Phobes, please come in. It must be freezing outside," I said when I saw him standing in the doorway, "Can I make you something to drink?"

"No, thank you. Audrey, I come with something urgent I need to tell you." He replied in a hushed tone.

"Mr Phobes?" I asked curiously.

"Darell was patrolling our territory last night and what he came back with blew us all away. Apparently he heard voices and he saw Eros and Falco having a conversation. Eros made a deal with Falco. If Falco agrees to join Eros' pack, Eros will make sure that you are betrothed to Falco." Mr Phobes explained and I listened attentively to every single word.

"So if Falco joins The Valkeries, Eros will make sure that I will be Falco's?"

"That's what Darell heard." Mr Phobes looked at me as I paced around the living room, deep in my thoughts.

"This means trouble. Falco is a strong and intelligent wolf. He might not always look like it, but with him on Eros' side they have an advantage." I was worried for the sake of the pack.

I was strolling around the woods, my thoughts running away with me. The wind howled through the leaves and I pulled my coat around me. I didn't feel any of the cold, but I felt safe and secure with the coat on. I walked all the way to Cameron's grave and sat down on my knees in front of it. A few tears broke through my border at the sight of my friend's gravestone.

"Missing someone, Audrey?" I heard Eros say behind me.

"Are you stalking me now?" I asked and got to my feet.

I turned around but found that he wasn't there. I raised my eyebrows in surprise, but shrugged my shoulders and made my way back home. I walked up the stairs to go visit my father, but my mother stood outside crying.

"Mother?" I walked over to her.

"Your father passed away, Audrey." She cried into the tissue in her hands.

I felt light-headed and almost fell back into the cabinet behind me. My breaths picked up the pace and my lungs contracted. It became difficult to breath or think clearly. When I regained myself, I ran out of the house into the night.
