Kissing Frenzy

All a bit confused, we followed my father outside into the courtyard where a car was parked and a boy and his father and mother climbed out. I almost gasped out loud when I caught a glimpse of the boy and recognised him. The three of them came walking towards us and my father and the guy's father shook hands.

"Great to see you again, Tyrik." The man smiled and he moved away for his son to shake my father's hand.

"It is good to see you too, Deimos, and you too Miranda." My father nodded at the woman standing behind her husband with her son constantly looking at me which made me a bit uncomfortable.

"Audrey, you remember Falco, don't you?" My father looked my way and beckoned towards the guy standing next to his mother.

"Yes father, how could I forget him?" I uttered sarcastically.

Luckily no one noticed, because they were too busy indulging in their own conversations to even bother listening to what I said. I remembered Kaila told me that Falco was coming for my coronation, but she didn't tell me that he was bringing his whole family with him.

My mother graciously invited them into our home and she started to make some tea for the guests. Adam and I stood in the corner of the living room having a hushed up conversation.

"Why is Falco back?" Adam asked me in a whisper.

"I expected this to happen, but it was unexpected for him to arrive with his parents. I was under the impression that he was coming alone. He is here for my coronation." I replied softly so that only Adam could hear my words.

"Father," Adam got his father's attention, "Audrey and I are going over to the vampires to give our condolences."

"Don't be too long, son. Alpha Tyrik suggested we barbeque tonight to welcome our new guests." Mr Prospero told us.

"Thank you for getting me away from all the senseless talking and staring." I thanked Adam as we walked to the vampire's camp.

"I saw the way he stared at you. He hasn't taken his eyes off of you since he arrived and I don't like it. I don't like it at all." Adam said with some overprotectiveness in his voice.

I gave Adam a small smile and pulled him closer by his shirt, giving him a passionate kiss. When I pulled away from his lips, he gave me a grin. I gave him another chaste kiss.

We arrived at the vampire's camp and most of them were outside, busy patrolling their territory. I greeted everyone kindly and introduced Adam to them. After the greetings and some talking, I took Adam inside the house to look for Mr Phobes. We found him in his study busy with arrangements for Cameron's funeral.

"Audrey, it is so wonderful to see you again." Mr Phobes rose from his seat and hugged me and gave Adam a hand shake.

"It is good to see you too, Mr Phobes, in this distressing time." I replied sadly.

"Yes, of course." Mr Phobes said and fell back into his chair.

"How is the arrangements going so far?" I asked and sat down on one of the chairs in front of his desk.

"We have everything planned so far. The funeral is to be held two weeks from now. The coffin, the venue and the catering is arranged." Mr Phobes explained.

"If you need help, Mr Phobes, please shout. I am sure the wolf pack will do anything to help and so would I." I stood up from the chair. "Mr Phobes, would you and some of the vampires join us for dinner? Father is barbecuing to welcome Falco and his parents. We'd really like you to be there."

"I'd be delighted! Thank you for the invitation, Audrey. I will meet you at your pack house around six?" Mr Phobes also stood up from his chair and walked us to the door.

"We will see you then, Mr Phobes. Enjoy your day and please do remember, if you need anything, you just shout." I smiled kindly.

"Audrey, will you please go and get the meat." My father asked while he, my mother, Adam, Mr Prospero, Mr Phobes, the vampires and Falco's parents stood at the barbeque.

I headed inside our house and walked straight to the kitchen to get the meat. I bent down to the level of the refrigerator and got the meat. I turned around with everything in my hands.

"Falco? You almost gave me a heart attack." I stated breathless from the fright.

"Can I help you with that?" He asked and pointed at the meat in my arms.

"No, no. I am fine but thank you for asking." I smiled over the packages and walked around him until he grabbed hold of my waist.

I placed the meat down on the counter and spun around in shock. I wiggled free from his grip around my waist.

"What do you think you're doin-"

My words got cut short when Falco slammed his lips against mine and kissed me. I tried to pull away, but he had me in a tight grip. I heard footsteps coming this way and Adam's voice echoed through the house.

"Audrey, your father is asking where you are with the meat?" Adam asked and came strolling into the kitchen, seeing the kiss.

I pulled away from Falco with force and turned to look at Adam. I could clearly see the hurt and disappointment in his eyes and that broke my heart.

"Adam, it is not what it looks like. I can explain." I started and took a step forward.

"No, it is definitely not what it looks like. I didn't just see you kiss one of your ex-boyfriends while we are together." He answered softly.

"Adam, please, it's not like that." I pleaded.

Adam shook his head in disappointment and turned around, walking out of the kitchen. I heard the front door slamming shut.
