Hello there you lovely reader, you! I have had this chapter written for over a month, soooo I'm posting it now as a surprise to my best Kaehla, without whom this story would not have come to fruition. Updates may be slow, but I wanted to get this out there for y'all. xx

"Natalie Reed, I'm calling to let you know that I am on my way to your apartment," Louis' honey-coated sandpaper voice came through the speaker of my cellphone.

"W-what?" I sputtered, sitting up straighter on the couch.

"Yeah, babe. I told you I'd visit once both albums are done. Now I'm visiting," he said with a chuckle.

"But I didn't know your album was done! Why wouldn't you tell me?" Panic set in. "How long do I have til you're here?! I look awful!"

"I'm sure you look fine, love. And it's a secret when I'll get there."

"I'm hanging up on you." I tossed my phone onto the coffee table and pushed myself off of the couch, where I had been catching up on all of the episodes of Chicago P.D. that I had on my DVR and ran to my bedroom. I exchanged my pajama shorts for a pair of black denim shorts and threw a blue knitted tank over the black cami I had on. Then I brushed out my hair, now dirty blonde, and piled it into a messy bun on top of my head. After a small bit of eyeliner, mascara, and lip balm, I was ready. I knew Louis wouldn't really care what I looked like, but I wanted to at least be presentable and not in pajamas. I moved back to the living room and flopped back down onto my ugly couch, bought as a joke when my roommate had walked in on Louis and I having sex on our previous couch and requested a new one. This couch was ugly, but it was comfortable, and we kept it. I continued watching my show until I heard a knock on my door.

I practically threw myself at Louis when I opened the door, wrapping my arms around his neck and attaching my lips to his immediately. "I'm so happy you're here."

"I missed you so much, Natalie," Louis murmured into my ear as we embraced.

My smile matched Louis' as we entered my apartment and I shut the door behind us. "How long are you here for?" That was always the first thing I asked when Louis and I got to spend time together. I liked to know exactly how much time I got to capitalize on.

"I've got a week off and an idea to run by you," Louis grinned mischievously. "Wanna spend the weekend in Vegas?"

I raised an eyebrow. It was Friday afternoon. These were certainly last-minute plans. "Give me ten minutes to pack a bag and throw some road trip snacks together."

--

"I can't believe we actually just did that!" I laughed giddily, falling back onto the bed in our hotel room.

"Like I said," Louis began, taking his place on the bed next to me. "It was bound to happen eventually, so why not do it now, before we both have albums releasing and tours to go on?"

"You're a genius," I kissed Louis as he lay back next to me.

"How pissed do you reckon your friends are gonna be?"

"On a scale of one to ten, they'll definitely be at a thirty-six, but I don't care; it's worth it. What about your friends?"

"Oh, I told them what was going on. My mum might be a bit peeved, though."

I groaned when I thought of what my mother would do once the news reached her. "We're both dead."

"At least we got married first," Louis laughed.

I chuckled along with him, lifting my left hand to look at the shiny new rings that adorned my fourth finger. It was our last night in Vegas, and Louis had suggested that we get married by Elvis in one of those chapels that lined the strip, because as he had said, it was bound to happen eventually. I loved the idea, so I agreed immediately, and now here we are: newlyweds lying on a bed in a luxurious suite in one of the many hotels in Las Vegas. "Should we call the important people and inform them? Or should I just post a picture of our ring hands together?" I grinned. "I kind of like the picture idea; it'll surprise the fuck out of everyone."
