Grayson is a vampire...

I kept repeating those words over and over again, but I couldn't even process it. I stared at the boy; I thought I knew seeing his eyes were impenetrable. He studied me, trying to find any sign of what I was thinking, but not even I knew. I knew I saw a man attack me with bloodshot eyes. I knew I saw Grayson with the same eyes. I knew I had just seen the supernatural before my eyes. My pulse quickening as I intuitively realized the truth right in front of me. Grayson took a step forward, but it caused me to crawl back.

" Violet-"

" What are you ?!" I shrieked quickly, getting on my feet.

Terror overtook his face quickly, placing his hands up in defense." Violet, everything's okay." he pleaded slowly walking towards me.

I shook my head, backing away more quickly, scared for my own life. I knew his secret now, and he could easily kill me for it to remain a secret.

" I'm not going to hurt you."

I turning on my heels quickly running. In a matter of seconds, Grayson was in front of me, blocking my view and grabbing both my arms.

" Violet, Please! Don't be afraid of me !"

I pulled the taser out of my pocket, stinging Grayson right in the arm, seeing it actually worked. He hissed in pain, releasing his hold on my arm, giving me enough time to run. I didn't stop for anything. My wounds burned through the cold October air, but I knew my chances of living were needed more. In minutes, I was home running right up the driveway seeing my Dad's cop car was gone. I cursed, knocking the blue vase overseeing the spare key inside.

" Come on," I whispered, fumbling with the lock.

The minute the door opened, I ran in, locking it behind me and turning on all the lights. Darkness was my fear now. I feared what it could hide, and I feared what I would find. I sprinted up the stairs into my room, hearing nothing but my breathing yet again. He was a vampire. Vampires are real. I ripped off my jacket, quickly tossing it across the room before rubbing my hand over my face.

" T-this can't be real." I whispered taking a sharp in take of air feeling my trembling hands." This can't b-be real."

This can't be real. Vampires were stories, movies, but they weren't people. The killings. All this time. There was never a damn animal wasn't there? To fast to catch. No animal prints.

" Violet," Grayson spoke.

I gasped loudly, seeing he was standing right behind me. This is impossible. I turned running to the door only for Grayson to slam it shut. Facing him, I saw he had me pinned between the door and himself leaving no getaway this time. He stared into my eyes, protectively slowing, moving his hand to touch my arm, but even the contact caused me to gasp.

" Please..." I shivered, not being able to even look at his eyes any longer." D-don't kill me."

" Violet, I would never hurt you. All I've been ever doing for you is keeping you safe."
