𝐕𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐭
𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟎𝐭𝐡, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟎Today was an even better day with the weather, perfect for a morning jog. I looked up trying to find the nice sun only to be met by trees covering it. Today's jog wasn't the typical boardwalk or street way. I was in the woods jumping over stumps and going up small hills with Ethan by my side laughing at how much I was struggling.
" God, you sound like Darth Vader over here."
I rolled my eyes sparing him a glance," Well some of us aren't supernatural and can run a marathon without sweating." I pressed." Why are we even running in the woods? You know, the place you told me not to go to."
" This is why." He breathed stopping himself from running.
I stopped along side him seeing a foldable table in the middle of the woods with what looked like to be a lot of weapons. Off in the distance, yet close, was three century bob body opponent bags and even some boxing gear.
" Do you always randomly set things in the woods hoping others don't find it?" I asked causing him to nudge my side while heading over to the table.
" We're a twelve minute walk from my parents backyard."
" So what is this stuff?" I questioned picking up a dagger and spinning it in my hand." The 74th Hunger Games?"
" Seeing the trouble ahead, I believe it's the perfect time to teach you how to fight against Vampires."
I forced my eyes to look straight into his dark ones only to see he nodded his head to me.
" You were right. You do need to learn and if you want to, I'll be your teacher." He volunteered." It's no problem for me since I have super strength. I can easily take down twenty vampires under ten seconds, but for you it's going to be much difficult."
I told him honestly," No shit. I'm the 5'4 human."
He laughed at my lame joke" My family's powers helps us fight. My mom can turn into any material in mind that deflects such as diamond, rock, concrete." He explained while I mentally jotted everything down." My Dad is very smart with both human and Vampire knowledge which means he can almost calculate an attack before it even happens."
My eyes widened," Seriously?"
" I've seen it before." Ethan said." Evie powers does not help her fight, but she is very agile and quick for someone so small. Like you. So, there are three main ways to kill a vampire. Wood."
Picking up a wooden stake from the table, he held it up spinning it in his hands and showing me it from every angle.
" Any form of wood stabbed into the heart automatically kills. Getting close to a vampire will be kind of hard for you, so I suggest this." He explained placing it down and showing me a gun.
" A gun?" I choked out never being near one.
Not even my father allowed a gun in his household.
Ethan nodded his head emptying the chamber showing me wooden bullets," This one is designed not for bullet's but these wood pellets." He explained placing it back in." Let's say a vampire is coming at you from far. You can shoot one of these and get them. Try it out."
I shook my head nervously," I can't shoot a gun."
" Have you ever tried before?"
" No-"
" Then how can you know if you can't if you never tried." He pointed out holding the gun out for me to take.
I slowly reached over taking the gun in my hand feeling how heavy it was and it surprised me a bit. I took a look at the silver gun seeing my reflection a bit from how shiny it was. I couldn't believe that I had seen myself. I never would of thought as myself to hold one, but my life wasn't anything I expected it to be.
