𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟒𝐭𝐡, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟎
I gripped the steering wheel in front of me focusing on the rearview mirror seeing the large cone right behind the car. It wasn't that hard of a task. Just don't hit it. I can do this. Slowly, I pressed on the gas watching the car move backwards before stopping and smiling at Ethan. He stood outside with a slight wince shaking his head.
" You hit the cone."
" Seriously?" I whined placing the car on park angry with myself.
" You're doing better." He said, but I rolled my eyes opening the driver's door and getting out so he could drive the rest of the way to school." Hey, don't doubt yourself. You're really are doing great. Just don't go too fast back."
He messed with my hair passing by me while I walked around the jeep and kicked the stupid cone before sitting in the passenger side seat.
" I need to pass this test."
He chuckled slightly pulling out of the practice lot and down the road," You know, I have no problem in picking you up and taking you home everyday. I like the company."
" Ethan, I need to learn to be more independent." I declared looking over to him." I can't rely on you all the time. I need to learn to depend on myself more. Plus, you don't want to drive your brother's ex everywhere forever."
" You know, you're more than just my brother's ex-girlfriend." He said giving me a small smile while staring at the road ahead of him." You're my friend."
I smiled at him before shaking my head," Don't get sappy on me."
He chuckled lightly pulling into the parking lot with students outside their cars enjoying the nice sun. Today was seventy two degrees today and given Avalon was so use to the cold, this was like a hot day for them. I couldn't wait until it got hotter in this town more over the nineties. I grabbed my bag from the floor hopping out of the jeep and smiled to Sage seeing she was leaning on her car with Landon laughing.
" Hey guys."
Sage smiled taking her earbud out," Hey. How was the parking?"
" Hit the damn cone again." I groaned leaning against her car with her." At this rate, I think cones are out to get me."
" Practice makes perfect."
" I'll meet you guys inside." Ethan said already heading towards the school building." I have to meet up with the football team."
" K." I replied turning to Sage with a smile." So, how did it go meeting your cousin Willow this weekend?"
" Great! It feels so good now to know about magic and share it with my family members. I mean, she taught me a lot about my family heritage and more spells that I could use. Check this out."
She took both of my hands into her own and wiggled her eyebrows at me causing me to frown at what she could be doing. In seconds, I started moving upwards and looked down to my feet seeing both Sage and I were levitating off the floor.
" Oh my god." I gasped in amazement slowly being placed back onto the ground and feeling the concrete rub against my shoes.
" Cool, huh?"
