Chapter 13 - Calmer

It was a bit later and I was just sitting in my bed.
Mom still hadn't popped in and I was getting more and more worried that Josh was lying and something happened to her.
But why?
Why would he lie to me?
I know this is all my imagination but I can't help thinking that something did happen.

It was close to noon and even if I was sleeping a lot I felt drowsy a lot as well.
The doctors wanted to do some more tests on me and I thought that it might be better if I stayed awhile longer.
Josh went back to the apartment so he could pack but said he'll come back later to say bye.
I heard the door of my ward opening and saw Riley.

"Riles," I said and Riley gave me a hug.
"Don't ever do that again. How are you feeling?" Riley asked me and I lifted my shoulders.
"I'm okay. Don't know why I'm here actually. The doctors want to do more tests but I'm okay. Not like I was hit or something," I said.
"Yeah. I saw your mom outside. Was she here?" Riley asked.

I sigh as I realize she doesn't know what to do.
When does the Hart family ever know what to do anyway?
Not like it was my fault but goodness knows why she is avoiding me.
I just shake my head to Riley and turn to my side.
She must have gotten tired of me because after a few minutes she left and I was alone yet again.
