It was seven the morning and I knew I had to get going.
I was wrapping a box and after that I will go.
I hear a knock on the door and my mom comes out.

"Hey ready for school?" my mom asks.
"Yeah. I am always. I have to go," I say.
"Can we please talk?" my mom asks.
"Not now. I have to go. See you later," I say and am out the door.

I head to the Matthews and immediately I only see Auggie.
Which was really weird.
Why would he be the only one up?

"Hi Auggs. Why is the Birthday Boy sitting alone?" I ask.
"Riley cut herself. My mom is just helping her. Daddy too," Auggie says and I hand him the box.
"For you. While you open that I will get you some juice," I say.

Auggie opens the box and sees that it is a brand new colouring book and colouring pencils.

"Really?" I hear him ask and hand him his juice.
"Yeah like it?" I ask.
"I love it. Thank you Maya," Auggie says and gives me a hug.

"Mommy. Look what Maya got me," Auggie says.
"Wow that is really nice of you. Are you ready for school Auggie?"
"Yes."
"Why don't you go get your backpack?" I ask and he is off.

"I know how to keep him busy. We are going to bake some stuff for his party tonight. I have a few recipes and I just have a checklist. Can you just go through it?" I ask.
"Yeah. Looks like we have everything," Mrs Matthews said.
"Okay. Where is your daughter? Riley!"

"Need to yell?" Riley asks and Auggie comes with her.
"Let's go. We have school in case you wondered," I say.
"Let's go then."

"What playdate do you have?" Lucas asks me as soon as we get to school.
"It's Riley's brother, Auggie's, sixth birthday. I wanna do something with the boy today," I say.
"That's kind of you," Farkle said.
"Thanks," I say.

It was much later the afternoon.
Everyone was heading to the library to finish up with stuff and I was headed to Auggie's school.
Our schools weren't far from each other.
It's like Auggie is here and I'm ten miles away so it was very close.
After I got him we went straight home and Auggie saw everything on the table.

"What are we doing?" Auggie asked.
"Well we are baking cake for your birthday. And Granma, Grandpa and Uncle Josh are coming a bit later so do you wanna get started?" I ask.
"Yeah," Auggie said.

We began to bake a chocolate cake and a blueberry pie.
When we were done both Mr and Mrs Matthews and Riley showed up.

"Blueberries?" Mr Matthews ask.
"Blueberry pie and chocolate cake. Your parents should be here soon," Maya said and someone knocked at the door.
"I'll get it," Riley said.

"Hope the Birthday boy's ready. We organised horse back lessons for everyone and that includes you Maya," Allan said.
"I don't think I've ever riden a horse. Hi Josh," I say when I realised he was standing and talking to Riley.
"Hey Maya. Hello Auggie. Happy Birthday," Josh said and gave Auggie a hug.
"We baked."
"I can smell that," Amy said.
"I picked him up and helped him to bake something for his birthday."
"Wow you are handy," Amy says.
"Thank you. Wasn't much of a hassle. How late do you guys wanna go?" I ask.
"Right now so why don't you get your jackets?" Allan said.
"Come Auggie," I say and take Auggie with me.

"Is she his mother? She acts like she knows him way too well."
"Yeah she does. Most days she just saves me. She is really good," Topanga said.
"Like I've noticed. She does like kids very much. Especially little kids," Josh said.

"You guys ready?" Amy asked.
"I believe we are," I said.
"Let's go then," Allan said.

Everyone heads to a little park not too far from where the Matthews live.
Auggie and Riley was immediately excited to be there and I tried as well.
But it wasn't very good to pretend.
And I think a few people noticed.
I just sat at a bench trying to get my mind together.
It was weird being around so many people since I wasn't used to it.
I was busy reading a book when Josh sat down next to me.
