Maya met Riley's uncle at the age of thirteen and immediately fell in love though she tried to hide it.
When things happen between the two of them how will she go on?
It was a month later and now school ended. It was nice knowing I could have all of the time in the world to hang out at various places including Mom's work and the Matthew's. But it also made me pretty much nervous to know that I'll spend a lot less time at them than usual because what happens is I come back from school and go straight to Riley but this time around the first place I headed was the diner. We finished our last year of Middle School and was now heading to High School which was very crazy for me.
"Hi Mom," I say as I come through the door. "Hi, Baby Girl. Sit down. What about a milkshake?" Mom asked and I nod as she give sthe order to the kitchen. "So you are a middle school graduate now. How does that feel or does it feel the same?" "Nope," I say as Mom hands me a bubblegum milkshake. "Thanks. It feels a lot different. Next is High School and after that it is college. I'm feeling nerves. Listen, I'm not going to be home tonight. Riley has a date and of course Mr Matthews will only allow her to go with Lucas if me and Josh has a Dubble date with them so we are going together," I say. "The boy you like? The seventeen year old if I am right," Mom said and I smile. "Yeah, it is. I better go get ready," I say as I leave the diner.

"Do I look okay? I don't want to give him the wrong expression," Riley while while both me and her mother rolled our eyes. "Darling, you look fine," Mrs Matthews said.
Of course I did a bit of effort knowing that it is Joshua Matthews who I will be going on a date with but not knowing how it will reflect on either of us. I don't want to lose his friendship and I definitely don't want to be entirely alone ever again. But how do I act towards a guy three years older than I?
"You look fine, Riles. Just like always," I say as I stand up walking around. "Are you okay? You weren't here this afternoon," Mrs Matthews said. "Yeah, I'm fine. I was at my mother's work. We decided to give each other a chance and now we are improving our relationship. I really think it's working," I said and we heard the doorbell. "Let's go, Riles."
It was very much later and Rucas was having a blast just chatting away in the subway while me and Josh didn't have much to say to each other. But what is new?
"How is it going with you after the break-in?" Josh asked trying not to sound too worried. "It's going. Me and my mother... We... We actually decided to work on our relationship a little. I'm spending a lot more time there at her work than at your brother's and Riley isn't too happy about that. But I'll get through it like I always do," I say. "You know I've never met anyone like you before," Josh said as he takes my hand in his. "How come?" I asked. "You are so strong and you don't let anything get you down. I don't think my niece could be like that," Josh said. "Of course she can. She's Topanga Lawrence's daughter. She can be anything she..."
Before I could finish my sentence Josh suddenly started to kiss me. The feeling was so weird but I think it was necessary for us to eventually know what we feel. The kiss lasted about five seconds and then he pulled away. We looked each other in the eye and I smiled. I laid my head on his shoulder and he gave me a kiss on the head.
