Waking up today felt different. I'm in a whole different mind space and it feels good. JD is slowing Receding from my mind and I'm a little sad about it, but then again happy. I'm starting to see the way everyone was telling me how he treated me. But regardless of JD I'm happy. I'm genuinely happy to go to school today.I got dressed as usual my infamous corduroy attire and straightened my hair this time. I knocked on Alex door and didn't get an answer. I knocked again and the same response, so I took it upon myself to open the door to check on him.
"Fuck Bonnie get out!" he screams whipping the covers over his naked body and rushing towards the door to close it. He slams the door in my face and I try to hold in my laugh.
"My bad." I apologize through the door.
"Shut up."
"Okay, are you riding with me today or?"
"No, my friend is getting me." He says.
"Your in 8th grade who's driving that young?"
"Bonnie get the fuck away from my door!" He screams and I jump a little.
Puberty's a bitch.
I walk down the stairs and face my daddy and mom.
"Morning bon." My daddy greets me while sitting at the table with his meal.
"Hi daddy, hey momma." I wave grabbing my coat out the closet and heading towards the door.
"Ummm no I made this big ass breakfast come sit and eat." She fuses. I look at the time, I guess I have time to kill. We began to eat but I notice out the side of my eyes my mom starting at me. I tried to ignore it but it felt as if there was a hole burning inside my head. I turn to her with wide eyes.
"What momma?" I huff. But she says nothing but continue to stare at me, she eventually smiles tapping her fingernails on her mug.
"Baby." She starts taking the phone out my daddy hands. That's the only way you get my daddy attention when he's on his phone. " it's 7:30 you better get going." She says handing his phone back to him. He checks the time and jumps up collecting his belongings.
"See y'all later." He say and exits the house.
"Okay good we're alone." She smiles back at me.
"Momma stop being weird."
"How was the date with tjay?" She grins scooting closer to me in her seat.
I scoff at her assuming I was on a date with him.
"It wasn't a date ma, and he's messing with Cassie."
"Oh girl how long you think that's gonna last?" She smacks her lips.
"Hopefully a long time."
"Oh come on bon, I knew you were a little off but not this off. The boy likes you." She says taking her mug and getting up from the table.
"No he doesn't." I retort.
"Yes he does and he's giving you all the signs and your just so.... damn.. slow." She laughs grabbing her coat and keys.
