"Momma please!"

"Bonnie you not goin to New York."

"Please momma, his brother just got shot he needs me."

"You can be there for him, in a distance."

I stop following after her, she notices and turn around.

"Bonnie-"

"I love him mom."

"I know."

"What are you trynna avoid? We already having sex what else is there?"

"The Bronx is a bad place bon, I'm just worried for your safety. And especially since your telling me that a 13 year old boy got shot, I definitely don't want you to go."

"Ugh, I hate living here." I scoff stumping upstairs.

I call up tjay and he answers quickly. I can tell he's been crying but he's putting in a front for me.

"Hey baby."

"She doing to much, she keep saying I can't go! I don't think I can convince her."

"It's fine, you don't need to go anyways."

"Yes I do, I need to be there for you."

"You already are, I appreciate you ma but yo moms right you shouldn't go."

"Are you sure?"

"Deadass."

I look at him trying to read his face but he was obviously trying to avoiding eye contact. It suddenly hit me. I know why's he's so pressed to go home and it's not just for Khalil.

"No, imma try harder to go." I say. He grunts but it shortly turns into a laugh.

"Im good bon you really don't need to come."

"Yes I do.. I gotta keep an eye on you."

"Eye on me for what?"

"You know what.. I know why you really want to go home."

"Explain Bonnie."

"You want revenge on who shot Khalil, and on that dude you were on live with."

"Yeah so.."

"Yeah so, that's the reason your in Seattle in the first place. Your supposed to come home on good terms."

"It'll never be good terms there. I gotta do what I gotta do cause if I don't, Khalil will always be a victim."

"Okay.. say you do whatever you do to get revenge, what's stopping other people for coming for him again or even Ahria? You gotta stop thinking with yo emotions tjay, you a smart boy use your head you can't possibly tell me by killing whoever shot Khalil will end everything."

He went quite, and the only thing I could see was his ceiling fan rotating. I wanted to say something but I figured that's enough ridiculing for the day.

"You right." He mumbles into the phone.

"Can I see your face?"

He lifted the phone up and his eyes were more red than they already were.

"Oh baby I didn't mean to make you more upset, I just don't want you to mess up your life over this better yet lose your life."

"I heard you."

"So you really don't want me to come?"

"Of course I do, but still don't stress it."

"You finish packing?"

"Just about.."

"Well I'll let you finish, I love you."

"Love you too."

As soon as we hung up, I had an incoming call from mosey. I hurriedly answered it with Sincere apologies.

"Mosey I'm soooo sorry, I forgot-"

"Let me guess you were with tjay.."

"Well... yeah but something happened and -"

"I don't care bon." He sighed on the other end. He sounded tired. "Look, I understand him jumping JD wasn't your fault and trust me I don't approve of him hitting you I got in his ass about that too, I just don't like that you kept it from me.. you know?"

"Yes, I'm soooo sorry, but you and tjay were just starting to get along without my presence and I just didn't want to ruin it and I was scared you'd tell the cops."

"I mean shit... if you'd told me I would be in a uncomfortable position cause that's my brother but at the end of the day I ain't no snitch."

"Exactly, but I am sorry I wasn't there for you."

"No you were, I- I don't know shit just feel weird now Bonnie."

"Welcome to my world." I offer a laugh but the line was just silent.

"I don't hate you bon, but we definitely need some space."

"Mosey, please no I'm so sorry I won't ever let something like that happen again! I can't lose you."

"Your not losing me, we just need a break from eachother, plus you got tjay."

"I- but I want you too."

"Ion know bon, this shit just too much, I'm leaving for LA in two days and won't be back till the end of the school year I'll keep in touch."

"Wait Mosey what-" just like that, the call was over.
