A pesky headache woke me up the next day. I figured it was from all the crying I did yesterday. I sat up grabbing my forehead trying to ease the pain. "Ah, my head," I muttered to myself. I looked over next to me afraid I had woke Leo, but, to my surprise, he was already awake and out of bed. Did he ditch me?
My heart sank at the thought and I quickly shook off the feeling. Typical guy. I fought back the tears easily because I was sadly use to this. A slight breeze hit my naked skin as I crawled from the bed. I went to the bathroom to get my robe to throw on as I lectured myself through my thoughts. I was stupid for sleeping with him again. I was afraid he was no different from other guys and he just confirmed my fear. He got what he wanted and he left.
As I made my way to the kitchen, a smell of food hit my nose. Was I crazy or did I smell someone cooking? I peeked into the kitchen and there was a shirtless Leo standing with his back toward me as he faced the stove. So he hadn't left. My heart raced as this thought slowly settled in my mind. I walked slowly over to him. "Good morning," I stated.
Leo looked over his shoulder at me before throwing me a grin. "Good morning to you too, beautiful," he responded.
I could feel my cheeks flush and hoped deeply that they weren't red as well. "What are you cooking?" I asked crossing my arms across my chest.
"French toast and eggs. I figured you'd be hungry when you woke up."
"That's my favorite type of breakfast." I smiled softly at the thought of eating a nice hot breakfast. I hadn't had one in a while. I usually would only eat a bowl of cereal so I could rush off to work.
"Good. I'm glad," he said flipping a piece of bread over before going back to scrambling some eggs. On the counter near him was two plates that held some french toast on one plate and scrambled eggs on the other. "You know, I've been down here for at least an hour trying to think of what to say to you about last night."
My cheeks flushed as I remembered his warm lips met mine as I laid over top of him and my legs straddled his body. The room felt hotter than it actually had been. Probably because of the heated passion and desire that surrounded the room. When I pulled away, his eyes met mine and all I could think about was how much I wanted him to take away the pain I was feeling deep inside. "What about it?" I asked.
"I came to the conclusion that you'd probably think that I just wanted to take you to bed and call it a day," he began as if he had read my mind as soon as I woke up. "But, that's far from the truth. And I want to prove it by starting over. I want to take you on a proper date tonight that isn't a bar. He grinned at his own joke. He turned around and handed me a plate of fresh eggs along with a stack of french toast. I knew he was referring to the first night we met. I took the plate from his hands as I thought about it.
