Behind a smile

Part 11~going to the USJ

I was sitting on the bus, on our way to the USJ.

The class was talking loudly as I talked to my siblings.

“Midoriya, I usually speak my mind,” Tsu stated as she gave me a sideways glance, “your personality seems to charge when you are fighting compared to the rest of the time.”

I gave off a nervous laugh while scratching the back of our neck. “Yeah, it’s… a side effect of my quirk… I’m sorry if it scares you…”

My answer made Kaminari snicker while Momo shook her head at my half-lie.

“What is your quirk?” Kirishima asked us as I shrugged.

“To be honest, I have no idea,” I answered as everyone gave me confused or shocked looks. “I means… it wasn’t ever registered… so we… we guess what it is…”

“Why wasn’t it registered?” Mina asked me as our father appeared in my thoughts.

I could feel myself shaking as Mei and Chi tried to calm me down.

“I think that’s enough, everyone. If Izuku doesn’t want to talk about it then he doesn’t have to.” Momo came to my rescue as she gave me a worried look.

I spent the rest of the journey trying to calm down as the class continued talking.

When we arrived I was still shaky but Momo and Kaminari helped me as I hid behind them.

We walked into the USJ as Thirteen greeted us.

Midway through his speech, Koi started to get restless and the watch started… sparking?

I attempted to get the watch to calm down but I failed quite miserably as I let Chi take control, which should have shut down the watch... but it continued.

•Koi what’s happening?• I asked quickly as my levels of fear rose quickly.

•I don’t know, something is wrong. Somethings blocking the system,• Koi stated worriedly as he tried to get back control.

•Could it be the security system?• Mei asked as Koi shook his head.

•My system could never be defeated by such primitive technology!• He shouted loudly, clearly being offended by the statement.

•There… there could be some electrical static in the air… could that be it?• I asked quietly as I felt Koi shake his head sadly.

•It’s possible and the only logical explanation but that wouldn’t be naturally occurring or from faulty wires. Izu, get ready; we are under attack.•

I felt myself freeze at those words as I search the area for whatever could be doing it. That is when I spotted the purple mist by the fountain.

I let Jack take control as he quickly made a wall. “Everyone get out of here, now!” He growled as they gave us a weird look. “Don’t just stand there, go!”

No one moved as the place fell deadly silent.

“Midoriya,” Aizawa growled as he stepped towards us, “if this is a joke then-” He couldn’t finish when the wall Jack had made came crashing down.

A strange blue bird looking man stood in the whole as Jack growled, “you want to mess with us? Then come and get us!” He jumped forward as he summoned his scythe and went to chop the bird in half.

Aizawa ran out as well as he changed at the smaller villains.

•Izu, we need to split,• Mei ordered me as I nodded and focused my energy.
