(This one be Pepperony centric)
Tony comes home to Pepper after a long mission.
It's been a week.
Tony really misses Pepper.
The sky of New York is pitch black, but no matter what time it was, the city was never dark. He lands on the dismantle-pad and silently urges the thing to move faster as it removes the damaged armor. Jarvis asks if he should alert Pepper, but Tony says no. He wants to suprise her.
Tony walks briskly through the halls and toward their bedroom, consciously aware of his many bruises and scratches from battle and lightly torn track suit, but he stops in the livingroom as something catches the edge of his eyesight.
He turns to look and finds that Pepper is sleeping on the couch, curling up into a ball on her side. His jacket is balled up as a pillow under her head and her hair is astray. She's wearing cartoon pajamas he bought her last year.
She's beautiful.
He goes over and sits on the end of the couch. Gently, he reached out and brushes a few strands of hair behind her ear.
"Pep," he finally whispers after a bit. "Honey, I'm home." He said her name a few more times before eyelashes fluttered, blue eyes opening halfway to look at him sleepily.
He sees the moment she realized he's here, when her eyes become wide and all sleepiness from before fades as she sits up with lightening speed. Her arms wrap around him in a hug and he does the same to her, whispering "hey, Pep."
She pulls away after a few minutes, hands staying on his shoulders as she looks him over. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm okay."
She looks pointedly at a few of the minor injuries he'd sustained and he rephrased his answer. "Well, nothing serious."
She seems to believe him and hugs him again, this time kissing his cheek. "I was so worried," she mumbled, partly asleep against him.
He kissed her forehead, trying to assure her he's fine. "I'm okay."
"You're home," she whispered, head against his chest, right beside the arc reactor. The soft blue glow lights up her face.
"I'm home."
