The Avengers were eating a dinner quietly. It was Thurday, their usual movie night day, but no one was up to get hyped after the week of harsh battles they went through. They had gotten out of the most recent one - an army of doombots - just an hour ago.
Natasha was sitting just as silently as everyone else, looking over their team of ragtag superheroes. They were all exhausted, her not excluded. They were eating dinner at 10 pm and she didn't think any of them would get through movie night without falling asleep.
Steve Rogers was sitting at the head of their table, face pinched and most likely going over the recent battle and different strategies in his head. He had eaten near his whole plate of food and was now tapping his fingers against the table distractedly.
Clint was sitting to the right of her. He was inhaling his food, sometimes steeling bites of hers. As long as he kept to the overload of macoroni she had accidentally gotten, she wouldn't stab him with her fork.
Bruce was to the left of her and she was worried the scientist might just fall out of his chair. He was eating slowly and sometimes listed to the side from his post Hulk-out. It wasn't surprising considering he'd only gotten a thirty minute nap, but it was in his best interest to eat.
The next seat over was empty, Thor having not returned from Asgard yet, but he would be here any day now.
Finally, there was Tony, their resident billionaire genius who let them live in his tower. Pepper was away on business and she seemed to be the only one who could get him to willingly go to sleep, so the brunette had been up for who knew how long.
He hadn't touched his plate yet, opting to drink two cups of coffee and do something on his StarkPad instead. Tony was right across from her, so she reached over and got his attention.
"Eat," she ordered. He glanced at his plate, then took one bite before going back to the device.
Natasha sighed in defeat, but straightened not but a few seconds later with an idea in mind. She stood, startling everyone at the table.
"Nat?" Clint asked.
"We need a vacation."
Steve raised an eyebrow. "We can't exactly take off from super hero duties. It would be a villain field day."
Bruce rubbed his eyes. "Yeah. As much as I wish we could take a vacation, it just can't happen. Not if we want to have a city when we come back."
"Oh yeah?" The red head asked. A plan was forming in her mind. "Watch me." She scooped up her finished plate of food and put it in the sink. She needed to call Fury and Pepper.
"I'll do the dishes in a bit," she called over her shoulder as she went into the elevator. She pulled out her phone and dialed a number she'd had memorized for years.
He picked up on the first ring. "Agent Romanoff?" Fury asked.
"I need a favor."

Needless to say that after Nick Fury and Pepper Potts got involved, there was barely anything standing between the Avengers and a vacation. The Fantastic Four would handle things while they were away and Pepper Potts got them the vacation they needed.
She had to scare a couple board members for them to let Tony go, but all was said and done within a few hours.
The next day, after a long nights sleep (for most the Avengers, anyway), Natasha called them into the garage.
"Why are we here?" Clint asked before his eyes lit up. "Did you get the vacation?"
Natasha nodded and revealed in their shocked looks. "Did you really think I couldn't get it done?"
"But what about the city-" Steve started.
"The Fantastic Four will be covering for us," she cut him off. "We don't need to back anything, it's all waiting for us at the private area Pepper booked up."
Tony jumped. "I knew it! She told me to look forward to today."
Natasha nodded. "Now get in the car." She guestured to a sleek black van Tony barely ever used.
Bruce's eyebrows furrowed together. "Who's driving?"
"Me!" Tony exclaimed.
"No," all of them said flatly.
"Whyyyy?"
Natasha raised an eyebrow. "Do you even need to hear the reasons?"
"Yes." He pouted.
"1. You're sleep deprived. 2. We've seen you drive."
Tony grumbled under his breath but didn't offer up and audible protest.
"I'll do it," Bruce said.
"Are you sure? It'll probably get stressful." Steve warned, side glancing at Tony and Clint.
Bruce shrugged. "I've handled worse. Driving is mostly relaxing for me."
"Alright, Bruce'll drive," Natasha said. "I call shotgun."
Clint groaned about his seat being taken as they loaded up. It was a three rower. Steve sat behind Natasha while Tony and Clint opted for the back. (Which made the other three particularly nervous at what they were going to get up to.)
"Ready?" Bruce asked as he fired up the ignition.
"Ready as we'll ever be." Natasha sighed, a sma smile gracing her face. "Vacation here we come."
They drove out of the garage and toward what would be a peaceful week of relaxation.
Hopefully.
