Attempts to escape medical were usual from everyone except Steve. Bruce only tries to escape when it isn't Stark Tower medical. Thor is taken fully out of the equation with his Asgardian healing.
Natasha, Tony, and Clint.... not so much. Being the only unsuper-powered humans on the team, they got hurt more than the others.
Clint and Natasha would be able to get out if Fury or another team member wasn't nearby. Once, Clint tried to crawl through the vents with a broken wrist and two sprained ankles.
Long story short, he got stuck.
Tony though.... unless Pepper was there to rein him in and keep him calm, it did not matter who was taking care of him, he would still try to escape. If Bruce took care of him, there was still a 72% chance he'd try to get away.
After a daring mission, Tony was hurt after being hit by falling rubble of a falling building. Three of his ribs were broken and his wrist was sprained from the gauntlet twisting.
The doctor's told him that he only had to stay for one night, but he had to stay in bed and rest.
Tony did not like that. So the escape commenced.
Three times.
The genius was caught three times, and each time he got progressively closer to the door. Deciding they couldn't risk him injuring himself by trying to leave, the team stayed in his room with him.
"Why do you hate hospitals so much, Tony?" Steve asked as the inventor pouted on his bed.
"I don't like the smell," Tomy mumbled after a few seconds, but his eyes betrayed that it was more than that.
Steve then remembered Afghanistan, where Tony got his Arc Reactor. He could have slapped himself. Of course Tony would be wary of hospitals after that.
With silent conversation, Clint turned on the TV. He flipped theough channels until Tony told him to stop, when it was on some cake decorating show.
After a few minutes, Steve found he liked it.
"That's a pretty cool cake," Bruce commented. It seemed to be rerun of a Halloween themes episode and the baker had made miniature bats on her cake.
"Agreed. I could not do that," Clint said.
"Because you have no tastebuds or skill?" Natasha asked.
"My food is great, thank you very much."
Tony snorted, obviously doubtful. He was starting to relax a little, Steve noticed. Tony was always tense in the medical wing, even if they were just near it and not in it.
"Legolas, what is the best meal you have ever made? In your opinion."
"Tomatoes wrapped in fried egg and dipped in milk," the archer said with finality. Steve nearly gagged at the thought.
"And that," Natasha started as she ruffled her partner's hair, "is why we don't like your cooking."
Clint pouted.
As time went on, Steve watched as Tony completely relaxed around them. It wasn't long after that when he finally obeyed doctor's orders and slept.
The team didn't leave for the rest of the night or late into the morning. They could be compared to as knights, ready to protect Tony just as he protected them.
When Tony woke up, they were still there.
(Sorry that this one is so short, I don't know when I'll be able to update again as I'm planning on kicking off more stories. I hope you enjoyed!)
