It began as a playful form of bonding between the new lovebirds, Roman and Virgil. But before long, it escalated into something much more competitive. It was Roman who had initiated the first poke, aiming for Virgil's muffin top hidden underneath his black and purple plaid jacket. He wasn't expecting him to react much, but the sharp gasp and wide eyes planted the seeds of curiosity and mischief inside of the prince's intentions.

There wasn't much that could get underneath his boyfriend's skin but now that he discovered this little weakness, all he wanted to do was poke at Virgil's tickle spots. Roman knew the dangerous game he was playing though because the moment he poked him the first time, Virgil growled a dangerous warning. "Watch it, princey." So, Roman decided to wait for the initial attack to blow over until he pulled another little stunt like that.

About a week past when he attempted another poke into the same adorable bit of muffin top. Virgil was stretching his arms to the sky and his jacket rode up slightly, but Roman knew better than to poke his bare skin. It wasn't time, at least not yet. The recoil the prince got from his boyfriend was monumental. Virgil doubled over and curled around himself, arms flying to protect the poked tickle spot. All it did was earn Roman a glare and he flashed him a mischievous grin in return.

"One day, you'll regret that." Anxiety seethed, and for once Roman knew the difference between a warning and a threat. Virgil's words caused Roman to continually keep an eye on him, especially when his back was turned. He had to be ready for him to strike at all times. The comical part about this was Virgil was confused why Roman kept staring at him with wary eyes, until he put two and two together. Roman was worried he was gonna get poked back when he was off guard.

Now that Virgil knew the real reason, he was gonna have some fun tormenting his initial tormentor. The next week or so was pure hell for Roman. Whenever he and Virgil would hang out, five minutes did not go by when Virgil would feint attack Roman. Not only was Virgil getting the upper hand on him, but whenever Roman would try to retaliate, Virgil would catch his wrists to keep him from actually poking him. "Ya missed." He'd jest with that low growl that would send shivers up Roman's spine.

It was towards the end of the week that Virgil finally took advantage of the jumpy prince. They were on the couch, chatting about the newest Disney movie and Roman saw the perfect opportunity to jab at Virgil's tummy. Like always, however, Virgil was quicker than him and caught his wrist with his hand. It was different this time because before Roman knew it his arm was lifted up and a poke was delivered to his exposed armpit. He jumped and froze, a rush overtook his body and he shuddered violently. A second poke and he jumped again staring straight into the mischievous expression that now covered Virgil's face. "Ya all right, Ro? You look like a deer in the headlights." He eventually was able to yank his arm away and the conversation returned back to normal, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he got when he was poked.
