Part 2 to "Hey Brother"
His sister banged on the passenger window, demanding to be let in. The alarm had been pulled and the cops were barely in the distance as they neared the complex.
Both doors slammed shut and David stomped on the gas, deja vu from his teenage years hitting like a freight train. He missed the adrenaline that accompanied a car chase. Every time the cops were after his gang, he managed to get away from them through secret tunnels he could open with his mind. Now was the time to rekindle that power, unless she had a different idea.
Dylan and Kate were shouting at each other, something other than adrenaline filling their veins. Their masks were splattered in human blood - David had to wander why.
Alyson saw him dart his eyes to their masks in the rear view mirror and muttered, "don't ask. We do what we must."
He ignored her words of caution, which meant not to ask her about it. It seemed some people asked too many questions and busted them.
"Why are the cops after you? I mean, other than the fact you probably just killed someone?" His knuckles turned sheet white as the van dove left and right into underground tunnels decorated with graffiti; some with meaningful phrases and pictures, others with cuss words and racial slurs.
"We do what we must." She snapped her fingers and the bridge they'd just passed under collapsed, going up in flames immediately. The cop cars slid to a half, bashing into each other. "That's how you escape an epic car chase."
David glances back to find the bridge still standing, fully repaired within ten seconds.
"How.......how did you do that?"
"I can make anyone see what I want them to." Alyson replied. "What can you do? Or are you just a one-trick vamp with an attitude?" She teased, knowing exactly how to get on his nerves.
"You know what I can do. I did it when we were little, remember?" He parked the van under the overhang of the loft warehouse.
"I know, but they don't. Come on. You can show us inside." Alyson encouraged.

"You might want to close your eyes." David warned, the blinding light building in his subconscious. "I'll do my best to control it."
His mind stumbled forward with the future. Many cops and guards swarmed the warehouse, guns raised and aimed at the inhabitants. Then the epic getaway and a shoot down, then nothing else. And the entire room went dark, the electricity fully wiped out.
"What time did that clock read in your glimpse?" Mate questioned. "9:40. That's when they stormed in." David said, glancing at the clock on their wall. "It's 9:20 now. Twenty minutes. Quickly pack a bag and we can flee."
Everyone went to their destinations, and he nabbed cash and his suitcase from the downstairs area, and they all fled the building out the back door just as David's future became the present.
It led to a manic car chase down to the docks where he knew he'd be forced to say goodbye and that's exactly what he did, cash in-hand. His sister made a getaway and he took flight out of the city, heading home for Santa Carla. He arrived minutes before sun-up and collapsed just outside his room, dragging himself the last few steps onto his bed.The morning (next evening) brought drama and questions from The Boys, and a gift sent to their cavestep from Alyson who hoped to meet his coven. His old life would be missed, but he had a new family forever.
