"And where might you be going, Y/N?" David asked as you attempted to sneak out.
"To see....a friend." You stumbled over your words. "I'll be back by sundown, I promise." You sprinted away from the hidden haven and mounted Marko's bike, knowing he wouldn't mind if you did, whereas David would've grounded you till Max said something.
Your destination was a few miles out of town in San Francisco, but you needed to see her and bring her into the family if David were to keep her alive. There she sat in June's Coffee Shop, sipping what smelled like a peppermint mocha. You parked the bike outside and entered the coffee shop. Maxine smiled at you, her waves bouncing gently. You leaned in to hug her and was met with a tense feeling in your gums. Was she bleeding?
"Are you okay?" Her cool touch shocked you. "You're pale."
You pushed her hand away and kissed her plump, peachy lips instead.
"Mmm......is that peppermint today?" You swiped her lips with your tongue and immediately sat down, not wanting to attract attention. She nodded. "I like that one best on you."
"What did you want to talk about?" She placed her hands over yours, worried that you were going to break up with her. "Please tell me you're not leaving me." She whimpered.
"What? Maxine, no. I wouldn't leave you even if I had the choice. I love you and want you to meet my family."
"Really?" Her voice was light and happy.
"Yes, really." You kissed her, not caring who looked.

"David, I'm home!" You called out, flicking your flashlight on. "Hmm....I guess they're not home." You knew where else they could be; Max's house, for your official monthly meeting about being inducted into the pack. Max's house wasn't too far from there and as soon as you drove up, you knew David wouldn't have been pleased with you coming late. Dwayne's expression said it all. He gave her their secret 'David's-in-a-mood' sign with his fingers. "Dwayne, this is Max, my girlfriend." He shook her hand and was met with her unusually chilly skin.
"David's inside with the others."
"Star and Laddie too?" You asked.
"Yes. Now get in there so you can vote."

David was surprisingly fine with Maxine, but Paul kept ogling her despite the number of birds she flipped him. Marko was a bit weirded out by her love for girls, and not guys, but Paul was curious, as was David. The fact you were lesbian made no changes to the family and they even accepted Maxine.
