~Spencer~

I yawn as I walk into work. I haven't been sleeping very well again for the past week, possibly longer. Coffee is the only thing keeping me going right now. I drop my bag on my desk then go into the break room to make some coffee.

As soon as I walk into the break room my phone starts ringing. I pull it out and answer it.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hey, I don't know if you remember me, but this is Zach, Mia's brother."

My stomach drops. Why is Zach calling me?

"Uh... yeah, I remember you..."

I didn't even know what to say. If this was about Mia then I didn't want to talk about it. It was too painful.

"Have you seen Mia?"

Have I seen Mia? What does that mean?

"No, I haven't talked to her for six months."

I was kind of getting worried now. Why would I have seen Mia. We broke up six months ago. Why would he ask me?

"Okay... uh, Mia flew last night to come see you because she needed to talk to you, but here's the thing, she's not answering her phone."

"What?"

"My mom said that Mia was going to text her as soon as she got to the airport, but she never did. We've been texting and calling her all morning and she won't answer."

"You should probably call the police."

"We already did, they're looking into it. But we thought that maybe she just forgot to call last night but now we've been trying to get ahold of her for hours and she's not answering."

I'm going to throw up. This is just like what happened when she got kidnapped. If something happened to her again it would be my fault because she was coming to see me. But why?

"Why was Mia coming to see me?"

"She needed to talk to you and straighten some things out. She's been a wreak ever since you broke up with her. It was actually my idea for her to go."

"Well, she's definitely not here. I'll keep an eye out for her but if she doesn't show up within the next hour I'll let you know."

"Okay, thank you."

"No problem."

Zach hung up and I dropped my phone. I can't deal with this right now.

I need to know if Mia's okay. I need to know where she is, if she's safe, if something happened. But I can't. There's no way for me to know.

I've been regretting my decision for six months now. And if Mia is hurt or dead, it's my fault.

All of this is my fault.

"Reid." JJ interrupted my thoughts and I jumped back, startled. "What's wrong?"

"I just got a phone call... Mia's missing again."

"For how long?" JJ asked.

"Well, her brother just called me and said that she flew here last night to see me and she hasn't responded to any texts or calls last night or this morning. They already called the police and they don't have anything yet. Her brother was asking me if she was here and I told him no."

"Do you want me to let Hotch know?" Maybe we can look into it."

"I don't know. I feel like I'm about to freak out and break down." I said, realizing how badly I was shaking.

"Go sit down. I'll go talk to Hotch." JJ said.

I walked back to my desk and sat down. What if it's too late. What if there's nothing we can do. We don't even know what happened yet. This is too much to take in.

I jumped when my phone started ringing again. It felt like my heart literally stopped. I hesitated to answer it but at the same time I couldn't answer it fast enough.

"Hello."

"Hey, it's Zach again. My mom just got off the phone with the police. I thought you should know..."

I didn't like the tone of Zach's voice. I knew something was wrong.

"Mia didn't even make it to the airport last night. She got hit by a drunk driver and she was taken to the hospital. I don't know why we weren't notified sooner. Apparently she got hurt pretty badly and almost died."

I felt a terrible pain in the pit of my stomach. This was my fault. I should have never broken up with her. It never fixed anything. Being away from her and not talking to her for six months only made things worse.

I needed to be with her. She wouldn't have been coming to talk to me if I never broke up with her and this would have never happened. She got hurt because of me and almost died because of me.

I started hyperventilating.

"Spencer?"

"What hospital is she in?"

"They said Amber Memorial Hospital. We're on our way to go see her right now."

"I'm on my way."

I hung up and went straight to Hotch's office.

"Hotch."

"Hey, Reid. JJ was just telling me about Mia and-" I cut him off.

"Yeah I just got another call from her brother. She's in the hospital. She was hit by a drunk driver on her way to the airport last night. I need to go see her." I said.

"Oh, of course. Do you want someone to go with you?" Hotch asked.

"No, that's okay. I just... I need to talk to her and tell her I... I just need to go alone." I said.

"Yeah, of course. I understand. We'll be fine without you so take the next two days as well. Let me know how she's doing when you get there."

"Thank you. I will. I'll try to get back as soon as I can."

"Reid, don't worry about it. Go see Mia." Hotch said.

I nodded my head then hurried to gather my things and head to the airport.

I have to tell her I made a mistake six months ago and I'm still in love with her. I can't be away from her anymore. It's destroying me.

I swear if anything happens to her before I get there, it will kill me.

"I'm coming Mia."
