Don't Be More Chill

As soon as Sam left the house, Michael threw himself on the couch and screamed into a pillow for a good minute or so. He did this every single time someone even mentioned the older Novak brother. Something about Lucifer Novak had Michael weak in the knees, sweating all over, and just a general mess. He was...well, Lucifer was a god. And Michael was an insignificant worm.

"You okay there?" Bobby asked as he came up from the basement. Michael looked up from the pillow.

"No," Michael said before collapsing face-first back into the pillow.

"Did you sleep?" Bobby asked. Michael looked up again.

"No," he said before attempting in vain to suffocate himself in the pillow.

"Okay," Bobby said before walking back into the basement without another word. Michael shut his eyes. Maybe a quick nap would make him feel less like a complete disaster. That's all he needed. Sleep was good for him.

He awoke with a jolt to someone playing music. He rubbed his forehead and it took him a couple of seconds to figure that no one was playing music, but rather that someone was singing. At the top of their lungs. Very, very well.

"And I hear a drunk girl sing along to Whitney through the door, 'I wanna dance with somebody,'" Dean sang from upstairs. Michael growled and pulled out his headphones, turning his music up all the way to block out the sound of his cousin singing. Sure, Dean could sing well, but that didn't mean Michael wanted to listen to Musicals at 6:30 on a Monday morning.

Fuck you, and you, and you
I hate your friends and they hate me too
I'm through, I'm through, I'm through
This that hot girl bummer anthem
Turn it up and throw a tantrum

Michael climbed the stairs and passed Dean on the stairs, who was wearing a Hamilton T-shirt under a flannel and a pair of jeans. Michael rolled his eyes, opening his cousin's closet. He was hoping now that he was working, he would have money to buy his own clothes since he had left all his stuff at his parent's house. He wrinkled his nose. It was a choice between musicals or old school bands like Queen. Michael sighed. Not that he didn't love old school music, it just wasn't his style. he grabbed one of the flannels and buttoned it up, before shoving his earbuds back in his ear to avoid hearing any more of Dean's rendition of Satisfied. Surprisingly, it was actually really good.

"SHUT UP!!" a female voice screamed from downstairs. Michael sighed and went downstairs. Dean was holding his earbuds and glaring at his twin sister. Hannah was standing at the fridge with her hands on her hips, looking like she might take off her kitten heels off and stab Dean through the eye with them. Michael had never seen siblings hate each other as much as Dean and Hannah hated each other. "Do you ever shut up?"

"I'm practicing! I've got an audition after school!" Dean grumbled at his sister.

"Well, practice somewhere else. I'm trying to have a decent morning for once. Ugh, I can't wait to go to Mom's this weekend," Hannah snarled. She turned around at the same time that Bobby came up from the basement and saw what she was wearing. A mini-skirt, a button-up white shirt tied a bit above her hips, and bright red heels.

"No," Bobby said. "Just no. I'm saying no for your sake. If your dad..." Bobby started.

"Did Sam actually go to practice this morning?" John asked as he came down the stairs. He looked between his nephew, his son, and then his daughter. "What are you wearing? It's school, Hannah, not a strip club. Go put on some clothes."

"This is clothes. Mom lets me wear it!" Hannah said.

"Mom also let Dean pierce his ear, and we all know that he's scared of needles," John said. "Your mom is well-intentioned, but sometimes she messes up like all parents do."
